SATURDAY / JULY 1 / DROPPED OFF UTV AT D&P MOTORSPORTS / TRIP TO BRYCE CANYON

SATURDAY
7-1-2023

Up at 6AM. I got dressed and went potty.

I made the bed.

I went out to the kitchen to make lattes.

Then we started packing for our trip to Cedar City (AGAIN) to drop off the customer's UTV at D&P Motorsports.

So we loaded the dogs in the Dually (the trailer & UTV had already been been hooked up & loaded last night before hubby got home from the shop).

We left at 7AM and drove the back highway to Littlefield. There was NO traffic back on the Interstate 15 at all!

Drove thru St George and Tater started whining and barking because he wanted to go to Doggy Day Care. But we told him we had a big adventure today.

Stopped and took an exit off the Interstate to walk the dogs as Tater barked. So we ended up in Kanarraville at the Mormon church and walked dogs on grass. Drove the Old US 91 scenic north to connect back on interstate to end up in Cedar City.

I was hungry, so I ordered Starbucks Impossible sandwich and egg bites and latte for Hubby. We went to Starbucks to pick them up. Hubby walked inside. They were swamped. Some old guy was touching all the food and Hubby told him off. Younger guys laughed.

I complimented a nice girl that had beautiful purple hair. She said she had a dog name Tato. She petted Tater. Some other guy in a motorhome next to our truck/trailer came over to pet Tater, too. Tater has fans everywhere.

Then we dropped the Eric's Can-Am Defender UTV off at D&P Motorsports in Cedar City.

Drove up Hwy 14 (NO DEAD DEER BODY-HWY DEPT FINALLY CLEANED IT UP) and stopped at intersection of Hwy 148 to walk dogs. Tater ran in some creek water. Lots of mole tunnels we walked over. Blue flowers. Tater hunted the moles.

IN FIELD AT INTERSECTION OF HWY 14 AND HWY 148

We stopped to overlook Navajo Lake and saw a huge line of demarcation in the water. It was an old coffer dam built by the CCC and it still shows thru the water.

Drove around the park in Navajo Lake. Lots of great camping.

Then we drove thru Duck Creek. Small town. Saw lots of  Lava Rock on either sides of the road.

At the intersection of  Hwy 89, we stopped to get fuel at Phillips 66. Saw a new blue/green Bronco and talked to the guy that was driving it at the pumps. He admired our truck, too. I went potty.

Drove to Hwy 12 and turned off towards east towards Bryce Canyon National Park.

At Coyote Hollow Trailhead we stopped to walk dogs and let them potty. Tater walked over some cattle racks. We gave them water.

Passed 2 rock bridges before the park. Drove thru Bryce Canyon City. Ruby's owns the town.

ROCK BRIDGE BEFORE PARK

Continued our drive to Bryce Canyon National Park. Had to wait in the middle line behind some REALLY slow cars talking to park ranger to get inside. Bus pulled next to us and got admitted faster. Then they opened lane to the left and 6 cars got thru while we waited. We got the D student Park Ranger.

Stopped at Fairview Point to walk dogs ON CONCRETE to overlook. Met a lady that had to pet Wilson and admired Tater.

We walked dogs back to truck and gave them water. Let them potty.

SWAMP CANYON OVERLOOK

Saw a little chipmunk at Swamp Canyon Overlook

Drove back out of Bryce Canyon National Park.

Took pictures of all the cabin/rental places thru town.

Walked dogs for potty behind Ruby's hotel in town.

HUBBY WALKING DOGS BEHIND RUBY'S IN TOWN

Drove to Hwy 89 and turned north to Panguitch. Cop passed us and was pulling people over.

In Panguitch, Hubby stopped at a food truck. (lots of boats going thru town to Panguitch Lake). Hubby got burrito and a chicken bowl with rice for me. 5 on the scale of edible he said. He gave me Shasta cream soda.

We gave gave the dogs some Starbucks egg bites and let Wilson eat his afternoon special diet dog food.

Drove high in the mountains up to 9,000 feet elevation on Hwy 20 to Interstate 15. Stopped to potty dogs at the Color Country OHV Trailhead. Took pictures for future use. Saw thousands of HUGE Mormon crickets dead. I took a picture of one that was not squished/dried.

MORMON CRICKET

We gave the dogs water and continued on our drive home.

At Littlefield, we stopped to get lottery tickets. Hubby decided to get Krispy Kreme filled donuts.

We drove to Jose's yard and dropped off the trailer. Then Hubby shopped at Smith's in Mesquite to get milk (and more Krispy Kreme 4th of July donuts).

We stopped at Walmart to wash the truck because of ALL THE BUGS.

Drove home, exhausted.

Put everything away. Gave Wilson his 2nd diet/kidney meal of the day.

Watched TV.

Hubby fell asleep on the sofa from 6PM to 8PM.

I went to bed at 9PM. I was exhausted.

Hubby came to bed at 10PM.
