FIELD SMOKE

thursday
august 31 2017

We made breakfast. Hubby made eggs. I made lattes.

Sat on the deck for a while.

Took the dogs for a walk in Farragut Park. Down the road by the Farragut Disc Golf course.

Left the dogs at home.

Drove to CDA.

We rented Scooters in CDA from a nice kid named Jake. Rode around from 2-6PM. Our butts got sore after a while, so we returned them early.

Scooters

Stopped to have lunch at the Greek restaurant downtown. Then we needed lattes from The Lean Bean, which were the most delicious drinks we had ever had!

Rode around CDA, down to NIC, then around River Avenue, Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive. It was so much fun!

Hubby had to stop at Gary's in the Highlands to pick up titles for the junk cars he had hauled from there. They test drove a truck.

Drove back home after we were done. It was a nice day on the Scooters.

Picked up the dogs and drove to Farragut Park to take a walk. Ben is limping on his leg.

Went back home, watched a few episodes of My Name is Earl, then went to bed at 10PM.

HOT, HUMID, DRY, & SMOKEY

WEDNESDAY
AUGUST 30 2017

Got up at 7AM. I was hot, so I went downstairs to potty. Put the laundry in the dryer and slept for another 25 minutes.

Rattler woke me up by miaowing so loudly and jumping on the couch. I rubbed him and then got up.

Made eggs for hubby and dogs. Raisin english muffin, egg, bacon, & cheese sandwich for hubby. I also made lattes.

We sat on the deck to eat breakfast. Wilson would not come out, but he did claw at the window excitedly. Ben sat with us.

No deer, No moose.

Kitties were out and about.

I went outside and put out more apples & grain.

We cleaned up, turned on the A/C, I watered the circle driveway plants. We loaded dogs in Grey Dodge and drove to Farragut Park for a walk at the Brig.

Turkeys
Saw turkeys in the frontage right next to our house.

After our walk, we drove to Spirit Lake to get gasoline in the Dodge.

Picked up lattes at the Bean Buzz. I got a Blueberry muffin with on 10 blueberries on top.

Drove back home. Hubby talked to Mark and told him that Friday is his last day here.

Did bookwork at home.

We worked on bookwork until 4PM. Then hubby rode his motorcycle into CDA while I drove behind him in the Jeep. He was supposed to take his motorcycle licensing test. But after taking a huge detour because Ramsey RR crossing was closed, we discovered that a lot of people had brought scooters to the testing. Hubby thought that was a good idea, so we left.

Was supposed to meet Mark at the Maverik to give him gas, but he was in Post Falls. So I drove home and did more bookwork while hubby went to the Post Falls shop to meet Mark there and then on to the Post Falls Shop to work for 2 hours.

At 7PM, hubby finally got home.

Momma Moose and both babies were here eating. I took out more grain and the watermelon to them. They left soon after hubby got home.

We went to bed at 10PM

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

TUESDAY
AUGUST 29 2017

Got up at 8AM. Slept in late.

Hubby made eggs for the dogs & himself.

I made lattes.

We sat on the deck to have breakfast.

No moose today.

Took dogs for walk in Farragut. It was too humid. Lots of smoke today.

We were both snippy with each other because of the smoke.

Drove to town and dropped donated stuff off at Idaho Youth Ranch.
Ate at Black Angus which was very depressing. Food was bland. Too expensive.

In Liberty Lake at the Home Depot, we picked up concrete, 4x4 post, sheet rock screws & cedar.
Drove home. Stopped at Rathdrum gas station for homemade waffle cones & ice cream.

At home, we gave the crappy anniversary dinner leftovers to the dogs, we unloaded truck, and took NAPS.

I got up at 6PM and fed the deer/moose. Hope the moose come back.

Woke hubby at 7PM so that we could drive the Tan Dually to the Post Falls shop. I followed him in the Jeep. He was supposed to fix a post for the fence down there, but Tom could not wait and had already fixed it. Jackass. KC saw us at the RR track and turned around, met us at the shop. We picked up money.

Drove home. Watched some Automotive TV show and went to bed at 10PM.

EYEGLASSES & CONTACTS

MONDAY
AUGUST 28 2017

Woke up at 7:30AM. Made breakfast eggs for dogs & hubby.

Made lattes.

We did not have time to walk dogs.

Got ready and left for Vision appointment at America's Best Eyeglasses & Contacts. Hubby had appointment for 10:10 and I had appointment for 10:20.

We got gasoline for the Jeep at Costco as we were early. Then we picked up lattes at Starbucks.

Hubby picked out 2 pairs of glasses. I got sample contacts to wear for a week.

Drove to Spokane. Highway 90 had construction, so we drove the back way.

Stopped at 5 Guys to have hamburgers. Big water flood in front of the restaurant.

Went to Home Boys in Green Acres to look at mobile homes. It was hot and humid.

Stopped at NW Beauty Supply, but they had no Gel Polish.

At Walmart, we had the oil changed in the Jeep.

We walked over to Sally Beauty to pick up polish for me.

Shopped at Walmart while waiting for oil change.

Picked apples at different places, Huetter Road, Rathdrum. Got pricklys all over our shoes & socks. Got really dirty from dust.

Drove home. Took showers.

Hubby fixed taillights in the Dodge.

Walked dogs late at Farragut Park. Hubby forgot water.

Drove home, went to bed.

SUNDAY AUGUST 27

FIRST FULL DAY WITHOUT BUD

SATURDAY
AUGUST 26 2017

41 Degrees this morning.

Had a very bad night. The cats were miaowing and coming in/out the doggy door all night.

I got up several times in the night. Made sure to use the lights as I did not want to step on a mouse!

Woke up at 6:30 and my first thought was "Our First Day Without Bud".

Hubby got up because Zim was wrestling with a chipmunk he had brought into the house. He was bapping it back and forth on the floor.

Hubby made eggs and gave them to the dogs. We decided no more pills for Ben.

Then I made lattes.

We had to stay inside to eat breakfast because the Mooses were outside eating apples & grain. They drank from the water bucket.

After the Moose had left, hubby loaded garbage into the Dodge. We let Ben outside to help. Ben ran off into the woods.

I decided to take more apples & grain out to the feeding area, when the MOOSE snuck up on me again. They were only about 6 feed away from me. I ran up to the house quickly.

I rode my bike down to the shop to look for Ben. Meanwhile, Ben had made  round-about way back to the house & gotten tossed by the Moose when he came up too close. Hubby was at the house, filling the water barrel. He saw it all. Ben was not hurt, just upset.

Loaded Ben into the truck. Loaded Wilson into the truck.

Drove to Farragut Park for a walk around the Brig woods area.

Then we stopped at the Dump to drop off our garbage.

Stopped at Lil Town Market to get milk.

Hubby left at 10:30 to go work at Shop in Post Falls. He picked up Beebo so he could be Shop Dog today.

Ben had a big stringer on his mouth and head.

 Slobber String on Ben

I spent the day working on Accounting Books.

At 11:30, I heard some noise in the kitchen. Under the bar, Zim had brought in a BIRD! He was playing with the bird & pawing at it, feathers were everywhere! I screamed. So I captured the bird with a glass & slid a file folder under it to take it outside. It sat for a few minutes, but then flew away!

Bad Zim!

Went outside to pick up dog poo at 4:00. Saw a pretty green caterpillar, but by the time I went to get my phone to take a picture, he was gone!

Moose were back by 5:30PM. They were sleeping on the ground out by the food.

BEST DOG IN THE WHOLE WORLD IS GONE

FRIDAY
8-25-2015

Hubby called in to work today and said that he was not coming in. He had to take his dog to the vet.

After a rough night, we got up. Buddy was sleeping in the library. He had had an accident. There was pee all over the room.

We cleaned it up.

Then I made lattes for breakfast. Hubby made eggs.

Buddy reclined on the floor waiting for eggs.

Buddy sad

Hubby fed the eggs to dogs. Then he made bacon in the oven. Buddy really wanted to eat the bacon.

Buddy drank lots of water.

The Last Time on the Deck for Breakfast

Then he went outside and laid down in the weeds next to the water barrel again.

We sat on the deck and had breakfast. I was not hungry.

I ordered a very nice URN for Buddy from ebay. It is Red because of his pretty red coat that especially came out when he had been freshly washed.

I called the Vet at 8AM to see if they could fit us in. The assistant said we could come in at 8:45AM.

We got dressed and ready.

Loaded Bud up in the White Dually for a final ride. As we left the house, driving down the driveway, Bud seemed to look around one final time. He seemed to know that he had to cherish this last drive.

 Buddy says Goodbye

Drove around Athol to find dogs for him to listen to their barking. The sun was shining on him as we drove. It was warm, but not too hot this morning. A beautiful day to die.

Drove to the Vet. Bud weight 105.7 pounds.
Made all the arrangements for Cremation, paid the receptionist, then helped take Buddy in the backroom so Maggie could start an IV for him.

They brought him back into the room. Made him recline on a blanket. Fat Ashley had to hold him while Dr Mike gave him the injection. Hubby was by his head. I was standing up and petting him. Buddy went pretty fast.

I did not take a picture of him after he had passed like I had taken one of Isabelle. I could not do it.

I started bawling. Could not breathe. Ran outside and leaned against the wooden door support where all the dogs pee. I was bawling so much. Then I felt hubby's hands on me and turned to his embrace. We both cried for quite a while.

This dog touched our lives like no other. He was the best Buddy in the world.

Then we got in the truck and drove home.

Took Ben & Wilson to the Park and had a long walk around the Brig.

Ben was limping on his left leg when we returned from the walk.

We got our grocery list and drove into CDA in the Jeep.

Stopped to wash the Jeep at Metro Express.

Drove to Post Falls to pick up parts for hubby at Cooper Fab.

Both of us felt out of sorts today. Waste of life. Waste of anything. I can't concentrate. I can't feel. So numb.

Then we got me a drink at Jitterz. Filled the Jeep with fuel and hubby got $20 to pay Cooper Fab. Drove back there and paid them.

We were both hungry as it was past Noon by now. Stopped at The Oval Office for lunch. It was good. We sat on the deck in the sunshine and a slight breeze. I accidentally spilled a glass of water. So
clumsy because of Buddy dying.
Afterwards, we drove to the River City Barbering on Seltice and hubby got his hair cut & beard trimmed.

Barbershop

We drove into Post Falls neighborhood and picked lots of apples for the deer from an Apple tree on  some abandoned property.
Then we were going to pick KR up from work. Called her and she said she would meet us at her home.

We got groceries at Walmart. Not enough time to get oil changed. 4 cars in line at the mechanic shop.

Drove to KR's and I was exhausted. It was SO hot at KR's house. 80 degrees outside and she had all the windows closed and no A/C running. So we turned on the A/C. Beebo was excited to see us. Took a nap until KR came home.

We drove to Spokane in the Jeep. I drove over to Dishman Dodge so we could pick up KR's Jeep. They had done the oil change, tire rotation, and fixed her sunroof tracking. The guy came out to clean up the oil on everything before she took it home.

Hubby and I walked Beebo. He peed a long, long time. Then he pooped in the grass near the dealership.

KR drove home. We drove home in the Jeep.

Stopped to get more Krispy Kreme donuts.
Then stopped at the Shotzy's Coffee stand on the way. Hubby wanted a drink. We got Granitas. My drink tasted bitter.

I dropped hubby off at the shop. Then I drove home. It took forever.

At home, I unloaded the groceries. Fed the Deer/Moose. There were already 4 deer here when I got home.

Wilson & Ben were excited to see me. Wilson is sticking close to Ben.

 Ben & Wilson close

The Moose came later around 9PM. They decided to spend the night here, sleeping in the woods.

Hubby called at 9:30PM and said he was coming home.

When hubby got home at 10:15, we watched a little TV and went to bed. It was an awful night. Heavy hearts because our puppy is gone.

THREE OF THE BEST DOGS EVER.

REST IN PEACE BUD, MAGGIE, ISABELLE

MORE CREDIT CARDS

THURSDAY
AUGUST 24 2017

Got up at the butt-crack of dawn and made eggs for dogs.

Made egg sandwich & latte for hubby.

Yelled at hubby because he kept turning off the lights. It was a weird color outside, probably from smoke and it was dark inside the house. I almost tripped over Ben & Wilson because they were reclining in the hallway.

Hubby went outside and filled the grain for the moose & deer.

Gave eggs to dogs.

Gave tuna to cats.

Bud decided to recline in front of the french doors so it made difficulties in taking their fresh water outside.

Hubby left with the White Dually.

Cleaned up cat litter in basement.

I started doing more bookwork.

Vacuumed house.

UPS came (Katrina was on vacation?) and brought my new Dooney bag (which looks like a small suitcase!) and my new Remington hair straightener (the other one was not heating well).

I went down to get mail at 1PM and received my new US Bank Visa card.

Rattler climbed up on the desk and helped me work.

Rattler helping me do bookwork on the computer

I found some great music while working on Books.

Need to take several breaks from working with the computer screen. My eyes are burning.

Bud is still depressed. He won't move too much.

I ordered more Lancome perfume & eye brow gel as they have a 20% off sale.

I ordered more Air Filters from Walmart for the Air Purifier in the basement.

Purchased some new Music; The Dead South, RagNBone Man, Kaleo, The Revivalists.

MOOSE SLEEPING IN THE YARD

WEDNESDAY
AUGUST 23 2017

Woke up at 5AM and pottied, then slept on the couch because it was too hot.

Hubby left at 6:30 and kissed me goodbye. He took the Krispy Kreme donuts that I got for him yesterday.

The Moose Momma and her two babies were sleeping in the woods this morning.

 Moose Momma & 2 Babies

I went downstairs to give them apples, but Momma Moose came up behind me very quietly while I was getting grain. I had to get out of there right away.

 Moose Momma

I safely observed Momma Moose from the basement. She started eating the grain that I was going to take out for them.

Look at those pretty Eyelashes!

Momma Moose also had an encounter with Zim, the black cat.

Koda inside watching Zim talk to the Moose

Came inside and made eggs for dogs. Made a latte for me.

While I was in the kitchen, the cats brought in a shrew and played with it on the counter! So I had to trap it and release it outside. Then I thoroughly bleached all the countertops!!! Yuck.

 Shrew in a glass

Started working on Accounting Books for business.

Bud was not happy. He is getting so old. It is not like him to rest in the weeds in the back yard.

 Bud in backyard

 L-to-R Joey, Zim, Scaredy
The kitties were playing outside in the afternoon heat.

Hubby came home late. He had finally gotten the parts to put together 2 trucks on the lifts after waiting for 3 weeks for the correct parts to come.

We watched a little TV and went to bed at 11PM.

DAY WITH KR

TUESDAY
AUGUST 22 2017

Got up and the moose were already here eating.

Made latte & egg sandwich for hubby.

He left and took the grey Dodge to work.

I watered the plants in the circle driveway. The moose left me alone. Talked to an older couple walking by and told them about my moose. Pointed out the moose to them.

I got ready and dressed for day out with KR.

KR got here at 10:30. We got to Sandpoint by 11AM. Had to return Starbucks Verismo and put the credit on my card. Got a Caramel Frappé before we left.

Had to detour around road because of construction. Finally got to the DMV at 11:30. KR had to wait until Noon to take her test, then another 30 minutes to process everything. I was bored.

We drove back to our house. KR got her car & loaded Beebo. I followed her home to her house in the Jeep.

KR drove her Jeep and I followed in my vehicle over to Dishman Dodge in Spokane Valley. They did not have an appointment for her tomorrow. So we left her Jeep so she could get the oil changed & tires rotated. She was upset.

We then drove to the Valley Mall to eat at Twigs. Got Crab Mac N Cheese. I got a drink, Not-Your-Grandmother's-Lemonade. Also had appetizer of Bruschetta Flatbread.

Then we drove thru Krispy Kreme and got 2 dozen donuts for hubby so he can take them into work tomorrow.

I drove KR to the Downdraft Brewing so that she could meet Amanda after work. (Don't drop me off in the front like a little kid!!!)

I drove home. I was EXHAUSTED.

At home, I picked up the mail. I gave some ham to the dogs for treats.

Rested for a while.

Worked on Accounting Books for a while.

Hubby got home at 8:30. He had gone up to the Silver Valley to look at a truck.

He brought home apples. The moose were here again.

We were both exhausted, watched a little 30 Rock, and went to bed at 10PM.
