MORE DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS

MONDAY
JANUARY 29 2018

Almost the end of January!

Wow. Where did that go?

Cats were running around and playing in the house at 5AM this morning. I thought that they might have brought in a mouse.

Got up at 7:45AM. Made lattes.

Washed my hair.

Started laundry.

Hubby had already fed cats tuna and made breakfast eggs.

I had apples & pb for breakfast.

We took the Jeep to CDA. Stopped at Starbucks for sous vide egg bites.

Then we took the Jeep to Metro Express to wash. Got fuel at Costco.

Got to hubby's appointment at ADAPT at 10AM. Christopher adjusted the boot brace for him.

We drove to get lattes at Lean Bean on Northwest Boulevard. Hubby drove past it because he was on the phone, so we had to drive around the block.

Then we drove to Kal's to pick up the 1099 from him. Kal had a lot of cars on the light, so hubby teased him about it. They went to look at a forklift that Kal wanted to sell to hubby.

We drove to the Post Falls shop and hubby went inside to pay for parts that Diesel Connection had gotten for him; he also talked to Casey while he was there.

I had to go get hubby because he was in the shop for over an hour.

We went to Transamerica and I drove. Hubby picked up more parts and got invoice receipts for 2016, 2017.

Drove home. They have load-limits on all the roads. Had to drive 35 mph behind 2 semi-trucks on Hwy 41 into Rathdrum.

At home, picked up mail.

Dogs were happy to see us home.

I made more lattes.

I did bookwork.

Hubby watched tv.

WHAT? EVEN MORE SNOW?

SATURDAY
JANUARY 27 2018

STILL SNOWING!

Wilson slept with us all night as usual. Zim jumped on the bed at 7AM to wake me up.

Got up at 8AM, hubby was still in bed with me!

I made lattes.

Hubby made eggs for dogs & himself.

A guy from Craigslist wanted to meet at 1PM in Spokane Valley for hubby to purchase parts.

Hubby watched an automotive show on tv.

Hubby went out to shovel snow.

I started laundry & dishes.

We drove into Hayden Walmart to meet Floyd to pick up his storage $ for the Jan-July season.

Then we drove to Country Cleaners on Government Way to drop off my winter coat to be dry-cleaned.

We picked up a latte for me at Jitterz.

Then we drove to Spokane Valley. Sat in the Outback parking lot. Saw a beautiful rainbow while waiting for guy from Craigslist to arrive. He finally got there about 15 minutes late.

Drove back to Post Falls and met Derek at Affordable Cars; hubby talked to him for a while.

Then stopped at Post Falls shop to check on vehicle.

Met Casey there and paid him $200.00

Drove home.

At home, had to potty and eat food. I was ready to pass out.

Hubby shoveled again because of more snow.

Dogs were happy to see us. Gave them a little ham.

I made more lattes.

Put away dishes. Put away laundry. Cleaned up Ben's water.

Did bookwork.

Paid bills online.

Ordered KR and Amanda some drinks from Starbucks at 5PM. They are going to AVATAR concert in Spokane.

We left to go to the play in Sandpoint at 5:30PM. It was quite warm and the roads were wet.

Got there early, stopped at Starbucks to get a latte for hubby.

Tickets for Play

We had to wait several minutes in the lobby before the Panida opened the doors. Then it was slow-going as the tickets were not collected quickly and the entry ticket was exchanged for another ticket, and then again exchanged for another ticket once you were past the entry doors.

Hubby picked up popcorn to go with his latte.

Inside the Panida

We sat on the right of the stage midway down. 2 stupid loud women had the WHOLE theatre to sit within and decided to sit RIGHT BEHIND US. One of them kicked my seat the whole play, then her phone began to ring mid play. Bitch. THEY TOLD YOU TO TURN OFF YOUR PHONES. BITCH.
FUCKING STUPID RUDE PEOPLE.

So during the 3 change of screen, we decided to use the restrooms and go to the balcony because hubby had finished his food. The notices around asked you not to take food into the balcony. There were wide sofa-like seats in the balcony, wish we had sat there before.

But the play was a slog, slow to get to ANY point. It was not amusing. The jokes and plot were only entertaining if one was an actual naturalized Sandpoint citizen who had lived there for YEARS! Jokes about former restaurants and bars.

For me, it was boring and seemed to not have a point.

We left at 8:00.

Hubby drove home. We saw an accident half way home. A new GM truck was on it's side in the ditch. However, the roads were only wet and not slippery. Already a tow truck and police had flashing lights taking care of it.

At home, we watched a documentary/film about Doug Kenney, one of the founders of National Lampoon -  A Futile and Stupid Gesture.

Went to bed at 11PM.

MORE SNOW & ERRANDS

JANUARY 26 2018
FRIDAY

Hubby keeps getting up at unholy hour of 5:30AM or 6AM. It was still dark when he started banging around downstairs. He made eggs for himself & dogs. Fed the cats some tuna.

I got up and made lattes.

Hubby went downstairs and emptied kitty litter.

It was exceedingly cold in the house this morning.

Hubby got up and shoveled. It had snowed about 3 inches.

Drove to Sandpoint in Jeep. It was snowing. Little white pellets.

Stopped at Yoke's to look around and pick up congratulation card for KR. And got a sympathy card for Tom's family.

Found some cute little cakes to purchase for KR's birthday upcoming.

I took some pictures of concerts & plays that were being held at the Panida. Hubby is bored and wants to do "something".

Picked up gear parts from Tom's Differentials.

Drove back home and picked up automotive parts that Katrina had delivered by UPS while we were gone.

We picked up mail. Just mostly junk. Got the newest edition pin & patch from HOG members group.

Made lattes. Hubby got a sandwich.

We drove into Post Falls and dropped off the parts at the Post Falls shop.

I waited in the car for 45 minutes.

Then we drove over to Big Bear Automotive to find out if they had diagnosed the white truck. He was still working on it.

Hubby called Frank's Tire to find out if he would get paid and Frank made an excuse that the Hallmark Mechanical had not paid their bill yet. He whined about what he had been charged for it.

We washed the Jeep at Metro Express. Got gasoline at Costco. There was a big tanker filling the tanks and very few people were there getting fuel. We pulled in right away.

Drove back to Post Falls and left KR's congratulation card on her table. Hubby ran it inside the house. He said Beebo is still limping.

We drove home.

At home, I purchased tickets for the play at the Panida - Death of a Small Town in the West.

We watched the documentary Wormwood on Netflix. The guy at Utah Toys had recommended it to us.

Went to bed at 11PM.

ANOTHER DAY IN NOT PARADISE

THURSDAY
JANUARY 25 2018

Got up at 8AM when Ben and Wilson jumped on the bed. Hubby had already made egg breakfast and was done feeding them. He had already given the cats some tuna.

Water was still leaking in to the Garden Window from the Direct TV Dish above.

I had weird dreams last night. We were trying to purchase a truck and had to put lots of money down. We also came home to thousands of kittens and cats everywhere, even 1" little kittens that were just born. Odd dreams.

When I finally dressed, I went to make lattes.

I paid off the American Express loan from our 401K proceeds.

Hubby had to watch Shaun The Sheep for a while. Then he made phone calls for Craigslist automotive parts.

I did laundry and did dishes.

Hubby turned on the A/C to melt the ice accumulated around the Ductless Heat Pump Condenser outside.

We had to drive into CDA to meet at guy at Albertson's on Ironwood Blvd to pick up parts from Craigslist advertisement.

SNOW AND SNOW AND RAIN?

WEDNESDAY
JANUARY 24 2018

It doesn't seem like the month of January is almost past. Dreary, dark, snowy. I really need to get away from this area to have sunshine and warmth. Depression seems to hang in the air like humidity in Missouri.

Hubby could not sleep and was up at 6AM. He banged around putting out tuna for the kitties.

I finally dragged my ass out of bed at 7AM.

I made lattes. Eggs were prepared by hubby for himself and the pups. Wilson had his on a little plate while hubby fed Ben by hand/fork.

Snow fell last night and by this morning, we had over 5 thick, heavy inches.

Lots of Snow

Ordered parts for vehicles thru Amazon for hubby.

Then we went outside and shoveled snow. Heavy, wet, concrete snow.

While we were outside, it started to rain/drizzle/sleet. The snow just slid off the trees and crashed to the ground. Severely cold outside, around 32 degrees F.

KR got here at 10:20. She brought Beebo inside. We talked for a while. I made another latte for myself.

We left to take Beebo to the Vet at 10:30.

Dr Mike examined Beebo and gave him anti-inflammatories.

We paid and left. On the way home, we checked for mail. There was none. Joe was here plowing and so we turned around and went back to Athol to get hubby a latte at Skinny Danny's.

Drove back home again.

Joe was done plowing and we saw him drive down Clagstone.

At home, we unloaded Beebo. It was still raining and cold.

We showed KR Slow TV channel watching trains...

Watched American Gods with KR.

Gave KR my passwords for Channels.

KR left at 2PM so she could go to an interview in Spokane at the Knitting Factory.

Beebo stayed here with us so we could monitor his meds & any adverse reactions.

We took Ben in to the Vet at 3PM. Got his shots, Dr Mike gave his yearly physical. Ben got his toenails trimmed.

When the Vet tech returned him to us, he ran up to some strange lady in the reception room and thought she was taking him home! She petted him and was amazed that he came up to her!

Loaded Ben and took him home in the Dodge.

At home, I worked on bookwork. Hubby watched automotive tv shows.

We left at 4PM to go in to Post Falls and picked up Verismo Blonde Espresso pods that I had purchased. There were supposed to be 5, but they gave us a box of 6.

Drove to Transamerica to get a part; Beebo and I waited in the Dodge for 30 minutes.

Then we drove over to KR's to drop Beebo off at 5:30PM.

Talked to KR about her interview. She got an offer from a company in Spokane Valley/Hauser. It sounds really good.

So we left at 6:30PM and drove to Taco Bell in Rathdrum. Got the $5 Cravings Deal Box. We both were sick on the way home. No More Eating Out

At home, hubby looked up parts on the internet.

I worked on paying bills, looking at email.

Dropped off Kim Antoine's bday card at the Post Office drive-thru in Hayden.

HUBBY GETS NEW SHOES & WEARS BOOT

MONDAY
JANUARY 22 2018

Got up at 7AM.

It had snowed lightly last night.

Hubby made eggs for himself & dogs.

I made lattes.

I put egg bites in the oven, made them from eggs & cream cheese & cheese whipped, then added bacon. They were ok. Not like fluffy Starbucks Sous Vide eggs.

Baked Eggs

Turkeys were here.

Hubby got dressed and took Rice Krispies out to the them.

 Turkeys

Hubby shoveled off the deck & in front of garage. Ben went outside with him.

He went down to the shop to meet the tow truck driver from Superior to take the Tan Dually down to the Post Falls shop.

Hubby met some guy in a white Jeep outside. Hubby is going to make a bumper bracket for him.

Katrina from UPS brought hubby's new shoes.

Hubby put on his foot brace and his new shoes! They fit great. He walked around and his foot was doing much better. He complained slightly about his knee hurting a little, but that is probably because his leg is being used finally in the proper way.

Hubby's New boots & New Brace

We took the Dodge into town. Dropped off garbage at the Ramsey Road station.

Hubby stopped at Jitterz in Hayden to get me a drink. It was a long wait.

Then we picked up the white truck (hubby still forgot to bring license plates for it). I followed him when he took it over to Big Bear Automotive to diagnose the black smoke coming out of it.

Hubby drove to return heater to Home Depot. We got $100 credit on card.

Then we were driving home, stopped at Starbucks to get a b-day gift card for Kim A., but they did not have any available. I was pissed. Hubby got a reward free drink.

Hubby remembered that he had picked up the receipt for the Jeep cleaning. So we drove over to Walmart. Decided to stop at the Post Falls Starbucks to see if they had birthday card gift cards. When we pulled up in front and parked in handicapped parking, some asshole was having a fucking time of getting his kid out of the car. He refused to shut his door so I could get out. Then I finally got out and the guy's fucking cunt wife backed up and almost ran over me!

The Starbucks had NO birthday gift cards, so I returned to the truck. Hubby said that when I walked into the store, the asshole guy had looked at the license plate to see if it was handicapped, when he looked up, hubby was holding his middle finger up and pointing at the handicap placard! The guy refused to look at him again.

We then drove to Walmart where ALL the handicap spots were already taken!

Went inside and got our money from the Automotive Department. Had to wait FOREVER while the Automotive Manager went up to the front cashier's and got the Store Manager's ok to take cash and pay us!

We shopped for bread, bananas, oranges.

Went to Stein's in Rathdrum to pick up Pink Lady apples.

KR called and said she thinks she got the job at Rock & Water International.

We drove home.

At home, kittys got into the box we got from UPS.

Mailing a Rattler Cat

SLIPPERY ICE outside today.

Hubby woke me up when he witnessed the neighbors hit a snow bank across the street after sliding on ice.

Got dressed.

Hubby made eggs. I made lattes.

We watched TV today. Too cold and snowy to take dogs for a walk.

Hubby elevated his foot all day.

Found a great show on STARZ called American Gods. We Binge-watched it until we went to bed at 11PM.

Saturday, January 20, 2018

SNOWING AGAIN

SATURDAY
JANUARY 20 2018

Got up at 6AM and had to take 2 hot baths for my endo pains. I ended up napping on the sofa until 8AM. Then I went upstairs to wake up hubby. Wilson was sleeping with hubby on the bed.

We got dressed.

Hubby made eggs for dogs. He gave tuna to the kitties.

It was lightly snowing with big flakes this morning.

I made lattes.

We got ready and took the Dodge to Post Falls to see KR.

Picked up KR and took dogs for a walk at the church near her. Beebo went lame right away in his left leg and we could not walk any further. We returned to the truck.

Hubby drove us to Starbucks so I could get Sous Vide egg bites. KR got a cold brew sweet coffee.

We drove over to the Post Falls shop so hubby could collect $ from an invoice that was paid.

Then we drove to Costco along Seltice.

At Costco, we shopped the new furniture. Wish we were moving to the new house now!

We purchased eggs & chicken for KR. Eggs and batteries for us.Used our rebate check and even got $12 back. KR and I waited for hubby as he checked out; there were hippies in another line that were sneezing and their child was oozing green crap out of her nose.

Looked at VW on the way out that KR thought she would like to purchase...

We drove downtown to get lattes at Lean Bean on Sherman.

Then we drove thru downtown to return to Post Falls. Took KR's stuff inside her house. I stayed with her while hubby went to power wash out the back of the Dodge at the car wash.

He returned and was soaked; KR dried his pants in her dryer. Hubby covered up with a blanket while we waited.

We left her place at 3PM and returned home.

Hubby went down to the shop to meet Casey to dig out the Tan Dually so they could haul it to the Post Falls shop and put an engine in it.

While hubby was at the shop, about 5PM, there was an accident just west of our house on the road. It was very icy outside, and the vehicle landed on it's side in the south ditch.

There was an ambulance, fire engine, and 2 police cars that responded. People were turning around in our driveway to avoid the accident.

We watched movies on tv and went to bed later.

Then we drove over to Costco to get fuel.

From there, we drove back to Columbia Bank to deposit his checks.

I called KR because she said that she broke up with her boyfriend.

Stopped at DMV to pick up hubby's handicap placard! Now we can park in Handicap spots.

Hubby took Rice Krispies out to feed them. I cut up the dry apples to put out for them.

Hubby watched Shaun The Sheep.

We drove into Rathdrum and got a Jitterz latte for me.

Then we drove to the Post Falls shop. Hubby called Charles to talk to him about his shop on the property.

At the shop, I got out of the Jeep to drive it home again. I had forgotten that my appointment was not at 1pm, it was at 2PM.

I slipped on black ice just as I rounded the driver's side front bumper. I fell on both knees in the slush and ice. Hubby finally got off the phone and came to help me. Some delivery driver for the shop also arrived and asked if we needed help.

Hubby got me up, but I could barely walk. He went inside the shop to get a milk crate so that I could get back into the Jeep. He was going to take me home.

Drove back home. I took off my soaking, wet, cold clothes and took a bath with Epsom salts.

Hubby had lunch, then left to return to the shop.

I got dressed again, took aspirin

Prior to going to my appointment, I installed the VAVA Dash Cam in the Jeep. I uploaded the App for it. It worked.

 Vava Dash Cam

Went to my appointment in Hayden at Azure Salon with Karen Hicks at 2PM. I arrived there early.

DARK AND DINGY

SUNDAY
JANUARY 14 2018

Got up at 7AM because we could not sleep any longer.

Hubby made eggs. I made lattes.

I went downstairs and fed the cats, (we are now out of cat food), cleaned cat litter, and vacuumed.

Hubby put his foot up and watched his auto shows.

Turkeys were here. They had lots of vegetables outside, some grain, and we put out cheerios cereal.

We loaded the dogs and drove to Spirit Lake for a walk around the school. Assuming that it would have been plowed for students, we found that there was slush everywhere. Walked around the high school and over to the Jr high where we found they were having a church event. Hmmm. Separation of church & state?

Hubby purchased another latte in Spirit Lake. We dropped off the sales tax envelope at the Post Office in Spirit Lake.

Drove home and changed clothes. Hubby got a little snack. We bundled up the dogs. Packed towels and got soap.

Drove to CDA via Hwy 41 because Clagstone is a mess as they won't plow it correctly.

Stopped at the dump to drop off garbage. Then we got a latte for me at Jitterz in Rathdrum.

We went to the Post Falls shop where I drove the Dodge while hubby shuttled the van to the repair shop.

Drove to  CDA via Seltice. Cars are absolutely terrified going around the roundabout!

Too busy at Winco to stop so we took the dogs to the Car Wash/Dog Wash on Kathleen. Washed them both. Water was tepid warm.

Shopped at Super One in Rathdrum. Drove to see the progress om the new Super One in Athol. Drove home.

Both of us were exhausted.

Unloaded groceries & dogs. Garage was full of water from the 41 degree temperature today.

I took a nap on the couch. We watched Blackadder on the new Roku Channel, Britbox.

I made eggs later because I was hungry.

Then we watched Damnation on TV.

I went downstairs to turn on the Dry Sauna

When I went down to sit in the sauna, I took down eggs & towels. I dropped one box of eggs on the floor going into the bathroom. Hubby helped me clean it up.

Then I dropped my water bottle in the sauna. Hubby helped me clean it up and put the fan on the soaking wet carpet.

I took a shower after sauna.

I did laundry.

Then hubby came down to sit in the sauna. He took a shower afterwards.

We went to bed after watching Archer.

Hubby made eggs for dogs. I made lattes.

Watched Mega Builders for 1 hour while hubby elevated his foot with heat/ice.

I put out food from last night for the turkeys.

We signed the house paperwork online and set it back.

Hubby shoveled the garage.

Hubby left at 12:46PM.

EVEN MORE SNOW

FRIDAY
JANUARY 12 2018

Hubby made egg breakfast for dogs. I made lattes.

I did laundry & dishes.

Hubby loaded some parts in the Jeep.

We left home at 10:30AM.

Drove to Jitterz in Rathdrum and got me a latte.

Drove to pick up van at Frank's Tire & Auto. Drove van over to Post Falls shop. My hair appointment was at 1PM, but Rachelle texted and said that she could work me in early.

I drove over to Azure Salon. I went in early to get my hair done. Just before I was done at 3PM, KR came to surprise me. She had been giving Plasma and was done, so she came over.

We drove to get fuel for her at Costco and I paid; then we drove her Jeep thru Metro Express car wash.

Drove over to the Post Falls shop to pick up hubby. Then we had dinner at Capone's. Hubby had a Pastrami Sandwich, Hubby had a sampler bitter beer. I had a chicken salad, KR had Hummus with veggie appetizers.

KR drove us back to the shop.

Stopped at Matt Z's and talked to him for a while. Nichole came out to say hi. We picked up the new modem from him.

We drove home.

Picked up mail; nothing but junk.

Then we watched TV for a while. Hubby installed the new Modem. It seemed to work OK.

We went to bed at 10PM when hubby was falling asleep on the couch.

Zim & Wilson came to bed with us and got quite comfortable. Zim has not slept with us for a long time.

We kept talking about the new house while in bed. Then suddenly, both of us were wide awake.

Zim & Wilson were upset that we got up again.

I got up to take a hot bath and work numbers on keeping the house & renting it out.

Hubby watched a Mega Builders show.

We went back to bed at 12:30AM.

Hubby made dinner for himself.

I went to bed early. I was exhausted.

TUESDAY JANUARY 9

TUESDAY
JANUARY 9 2018

Got up at 5AM and checked out of the hotel.

SO MUCH SMOKE. It was disgusting. We smelled awful.

Stopped to get gasoline at a station before going to Enterprise. A homeless man asked for money, but we gave him all our food instead. He seemed happy about it.

We called for an UBER and got Juan. He was a Cuban immigrant and had been here 2 years. Very nice guy. Great ride. Clean car.

It only cost $16 instead of over $40 for our taxi from the airport. Quite a deal.

Juan dropped us off at the Airport. We gave him our blanket and water bottles that we still had left in the rent-a-car.

We printed our tickets as I had upgraded to automatic check-in 36 hours before flight. We were A32 & A33.

Hung around until the Harley Store opened at 7:30AM. But they were not Airport Harley. So we did not get a poker chip.

Walked thru TSA, very easy. Hubby forgot he still had his knife, so he had to hand it over.

Went to Concourse B to wait for the plane. We got a gross, disgusting latte from Einstein Bagels and I got a cheese bagel. Hubby went over to get a burrito. The burrito spilled red sauce everywhere.

They called out that our flight was going to be loading at 12:15PM on Concourse C instead. So we hustled over there.

My suitcase handle broke, so had to carry it.

We waited at Concourse C. They announced that the cloud bank was under 500 feet with the rain, so they were slowing down air traffic. Our plane was coming from San Diego? So they were an hour late.

A young couple was chasing their little boy around. He was SO cute.

Lined up for loading. We were just 2 people from sitting in the Emergency Door section for extra leg room. Almost thought the family with 5 kids under 5 was going to sit behind us, but the Flight Attendant told them they could not sit small children behind the Emergency Exit doors. They were quite put out, but I didn't give a damn. Their crappy little kids were crying and screaming. Too many kids to handle. Don't feel like you have to repopulate their earth on your own!

The flight was bumpy. Pilot went fast to make up for time. No views as cloud cover all the way to Spokane Airport.

Bumpy landing.

KR picked us up. Stopped at Stateline to get gas for KR in her car. She drove us to Jitterz because I needed coffee. Then back to the Post Falls store to get the Dodge.

We left hubby there to talk to guys while we drove to KR's. I missed my puppies.

Wilson and Ben were so excited to see me, but did not bark. Beebo squealed and barked.

Hubby finally got there about 1 hour later. We talked to KR for a while. She told us about new boyfriend, James. He sounds a million times a better person than jackass.

We drove home. It was getting dark. Raining. Stopped at Stein's. Hubby got milk, oranges, apples.

At home, it was cold. Found all the kitties. Turned on heat.

Cleaned up the house. Cleaned up kitty litter.

Started laundry. Started dishes.

Went to bed at 10PM. We were both exhausted.

MONDAY JANUARY 8

MONDAY
JANUARY 8 2018

Reception stuck the hotel receipt under the door at 2AM and woke me up. I thought somebody was trying to break in! So I could not sleep after that.

I took a shower.

Hubby got up at 7AM. He took a shower.

We ate breakfast. It was not as well put out as the other Wyndham Hotels. Some crazy lady that kept talking on her phone and a cute little girl with her mother was there.

Checked out, left keys at front desk.

Drove to Starbucks to get drinks. Order was wrong. No vanilla flavor again, had to drive around and have them re-make drinks.

My drink was hot and hubby's was lukewarm.

Drove to Henderson Harley Dealer. Hubby talked to a salesman about new bikes and I talked to Maria, she was pregnant front desk clerk. She was very nice.

Henderson Harley Davidson

Purchased another poker chip for KR and a bike chain bracelet for me.

Las Vegas Harley Davidson

Drove to Harley Davidson dealer in Las Vegas and picked up another poker chip for KR. They were rude at this place. Salesman walked away with new 115th Anniversary Denim bike that hubby was looking over.
 Poker Chips for KR

Ate at In-N-Out Burger. It was pretty good.

In-N-Out Burger

We drove around trying to find a hotel. All of them were too expensive and charged "Resort Fee". We finally drove out to Henderson again to stay there, but they were charging $160 a night. So we thought if we were going to be THAT far from Enterprise drop off tomorrow, that we would pay the higher fee for a room and be closer.

Ended up at Arizona Charlie's. It was smoked filled and gross. Old place. Old carpet. Stank. We ate dinner at the buffet and it was not worth it. Gross food.

Went to the room and found ash trays everywhere!

I took a shower.

Tried to sleep, but I woke up with a headache at 5AM. We dressed and got out of there.

SUNDAY JANUARY 7

SUNDAY
JANUARY 7

Got up at 7AM, checked out of Virgin Valley hotel room.

Leaving the Virgin River Hotel

Ate breakfast at the Virgin River cafe again. Played Keno & lost again. Both of us got the Deuces breakfast special.

Drove around to see the area. Trying to find a shop for hubby to store vehicles & do work.

Got a tape measure at Ace Hardware. I purchased hand cream. Hubby was inside FOREVER trying to have the clerk ring him up. She was quite confused about how to run the cash register.

Drove to Sun City Del Webb to measure the inside of the home.

Hubby drove around for a while trying to find buildings to rent. He found some guys that were working on a dune buggy and talked to them.

Then we drove over on Riverside to talk with the owner of the building over there. He was talking to him for over an hour.

KR called while I was waiting for hubby. She was at our house, cleaning up and feeding kitties. Kitties had torn open all the cabinet doors, torn the paper towels down and made a mess, and broken a plate.

The house smelled of propane, so hubby had her turn off the propane knob under the fireplace.

KR cleaned up all the kitty litter, but forgot the bag in the laundryroom. She also did not pick up the mail, but did pick up a UPS box that was delivered.

We left Mesquite and drove to Vegas.

Stopped at Red Rock Harley to get hubby a t-shirt & picked up another poker chip for KR.

 Harley Davidson

Drove to the Hoover Dam looking for a room. Looked at all the changes at Boulder City. It was getting dark, raining, and late. Tried to find a hotel. Too expensive at some of the places and they wanted to charge a "resort fee".

We stayed at Wyndham Hotel in Henderson, Nevada. It was a long ways out of Vegas. Tried to go up to 3rd floor room after hubby dropped me off, but there was a yappy dog across the hallway and I did not even open the door.  Went down to reception and asked for another room.

Changed to first floor. It was pretty quiet.

We did our laundry and then went out to Famous Dave's to eat. Hubby was quite excited to have me eat there. It was ok. Not great. Cornbread was pretty good.
Famous Dave's

Back to hotel. Watched Get Smart and went to bed.

SATURDAY JANUARY 6

SATURDAY
JANUARY 6 2018

Up at 8AM after horrible sleeping night.

Neighbors finally turned off the tv at 1AM.

We went to breakfast. Lots of people down there. Hubby had yogurt and I had eggs. No coffee as they were all out. A sister-wife with long hair fish tail braided was filling the breakfast buffet. She seemed to not be assured of what she was doing. Maybe inexperienced or scared?

We checked out and found GREAT coffee in LaVerkin which was the small town right next to Hurrikin (that is the way they pronounce Hurricane).

The drive thru at Coffee Roasters Company had 8 cars in line at all times. You drove thru one side and ordered, then drove to the other window on the other side to pick up your drink.

Hubby and I stopped at the grocery store across the street and picked up sandwiches for lunch and a cherry fritter.

Saw a black feral kitty at the side of the store with workers. They said it had been there for 5 years and nobody could even pet it for 2 years. It was still really scared and feral now.

Picked up gloves for both of us at Walmart. Considered getting a hat because of the cold, but hubby said there would be helmets.

Drove to UTV rental, Eileen got us signed up. Got goggles and bandanas, but no helmets. It was cold outside and traveling without a windshield or side doors made it colder.

Phil went over the logistics of driving the vehicle with hubby.

We went out on the 3 hour tour. Lots of stops, pretty scenery, pics. Met some other guys. Hubby dusted me with red sand.

 UTV in Desert

Hubby Looking at Sand Hollow Reservoir

Back at 3M. Got colder & started to rain.

I changed clothes at the resort.

We drove to St George and got lattes at Starbucks.

Drove to Mesquite. Checked in at Virgin River Resort. We had building 5 with Room 304 this time. The price was higher because of the weekend.

Walked across the street to the Eureka Casino Resort.

Ate dinner at Gregory's I had steak & lobster. Hubby had steak & shrimp.

 Steak & Lobster

Steak & Shrimp

 Chocolate Mousse Dessert

Walked back to the hotel. I fell asleep right away.

Hubby surfed the web until 10PM.

FRIDAY JANUARY 5

FRIDAY
JANUARY 5 2018

Got up at 7AM because we could not sleep anymore with the FAN on in the room all night.

Hubby took a shower.

We had free breakfast which was very nice. Very extensive breakfast offering. I had sausage, egg, cheese croissant. Hubby had sausage, gravy & biscuits. We shared waffles.

Hubby ate too much so he had tummy problems. Fell asleep on the chair in the room watching automotive shows on the TV.

A diesel truck started just outside the room and poured diesel smell into the room. We decided to leave right away.

We checked out. Fed our leftover breakfast to some birds that were hanging in the parking lot.

Drove around to the other side of St George; picked up lattes at Perks Coffee. They turned out to be really bad. Nobody down here knows how to do good coffee.

We toured the Pioneer Museum, which was just a huge building that was once the courthouse in town.

Returned the Rent-A-Junk Jeep Cherokee to the Airport Location. They were really nice. We got a GMC Acadia instead.

I had to get my nails & toes done as they were too scummy. Drove to Nails Inc on Sunset Blvd and had Jessica do them. She was nice. I left a tip. They charged me too much. She took over 2 hours. That was way TOO long.

Hubby was nicely waiting for me when I got out.

We went over to Starbucks and got drinks. We had to return and have them do the drinks over as there was not enough flavor in either drink.

We drove to Hurricane and visited Sand Hollow State Park. Reserved a UTV with Eileen at Rent Utah Toys.

Not Good Coffee :(
 View from Sand Hollow Resort

Picked up a poker chip at the Hurricane Harley Dealer.

Tried to rent a room at the Resort, but they were too expensive at $160 for one night!

Went in to Hurricane and got a room at the Wyndham Hotel. Room 416.

Was recommended by the front desk clerk, Marco to eat at Lupita's Mexican Restaurant, so we drove there. Lupitas was ok. Not great. They did not have guacamole. Disappointing. Looked at a building right next to there to rent. No phone number on building.

Drove to Walmart to purchase shoes, jacket for me, soap to wash clothes at the hotel.

Came back to the room at the Wyndham. Tried to print floor plan, but printer would not work. Even Marco could not figure out the problem.

Got cookies & cocoa and took them to the room.

Went to bed at 11PM.

Noisy neighbors listening to their loud tv until 12:30AM. We called to complain twice, but the front desk would not call or come up to their room.

I called the front desk and told them I would call the police for disturbance of the peace if those people did not turn off the tv.

THURSDAY JANUARY 4

THURSDAY
JANUARY 4 2018

Got up at 5AM to shower because of cramps. Asked hubby to shut off the noisy heater in the room. Blanket made the bed very warm.

Woke up at 7:25AM. Hubby showered and we dressed.

Checked out of Virgin River Hotel.

Had breakfast at the Virgin River Cafe. I had Deuces Special while hubby had the Ham Streak special. We played and lost Keno while waiting.

 Ham Steak Special
 Deuces Special (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon for $3.99)
 Future Owners!

Picked up gross Starbucks at the Casino.

Drove to look at the available Lot for the house.

I had diarrhea from all the crap food and hubby had to drive me back to the gas station in town. However, they were cleaning and I then had to run over to Taco Time to potty.

Back to the Sales Office at 11AM. Toured the homes again and waited for the sales woman, Barbara. She came to meet us while we were sitting on the sofa at the Haven. We discussed options and she showed us the different things available. Cannot raise the counters. Cannot get the taller opening for the garage.

Barbara drove us thru the models that were being built to give us a better idea of the options available. We came back after picking out colors & looking at other homes.

Signed Documents and left.

Drove to St George and checked into the Wyndham Hotel; got a Suite.

Ordered Calzones from Brick Oven Pizza because we were so tired and did not want to go out. After being assured that it was not too late to order or deliver, we were offered plates, napkins, and silverware. But when the food was delivered, there was no sauce or cheese on the calzone. Hubby called and complained, but they were not willing to do anything to fix it.

Went to bed with noisy, vibrating heaters going that COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF!

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 3RD

WEDNESDAY
JANUARY 3 2018

Up at 8AM. Dressed, hubby showered. Really STRONG shower head.

 Virgin River Hotel Casino

Got coffee at Cups of Coffee to Go. Yuck. In the smoky casino. Gross coffee. Burnt my tongue. Lava Hot.

Drove to Sun City. Talked to Michelle, the Receptionist. She lives and works there. I asked her questions about pets & HOA.

Barbara was our salesperson. Couldn't answer questions. Kinda ditzy. Vague on options, costs, and home questions.

We looked around Model Homes by ourselves. Decided on Haven. The other home was too large at over 2000 feet.

Went to lunch at the 1880 Grille at the Golf Club House. They gave us a certificate for 10% off lunch. Whoopie.
Hubby Eating at 1880 Grille

Went back at 1:45PM to look at home sites available.

Sales office was closing at 3PM to have a group end of year dinner in St George, so Barbara had to leave. She dropped us off at the Sales Office.

We walked to potty at the nearby small golf course, walked over to the Community Center to look around. Saw pools, exercise room, library.

Wide Roads

Went back to the car and drove to get coffee & snacks at gas station. I called TDS, the Internet provider for the area to get costs. They said 60mbps for $50/mo.

Hubby had to go look at the Airport, so we drove there. Very pretty sunset.

Drove by a home with a massive amount of Xmas lights.

Went back to Walmart to purchase a blanket for the hotel room and a knife for hubby.

Back to the hotel. Parking lot was FULL. Had to park on back of building.

Watched TV. Discussed house. Headaches.

Hubby had snacks. We put the new blanket on the bed. Full of static electricity.

Went to bed.

TUESDAY JANUARY 2

TUESDAY
JANUARY 2

Up at 5:30AM to wash my hair.

Packed and loaded dogs in Dodge truck. When hubby backed it out, it got stuck (2WD) in the snow. I went inside to get the keys for the Jeep and by that time, he had gotten it unstuck.

Drove to KR's. Ben got loose and ran off. Then Beebo & Wilson almost got out of the house because KR did not shut the door behind her as she came out of the garage. I ran off to find Ben and he came running. We took him inside.

Hubby drove to the shop in the Dodge so that he could get stuff going for this morning. I rode in KR's Jeep with her to pick up hubby.

We picked up hubby after he parked the Dodge at the Post Falls shop.

KR gave me a Birthday card.

KR drove us to the Spokane Airport. and we unloaded. I had forgotten to check in 24 hours before the flight; so I had to check in on Southwest Airline App on the drive to the Airport. At the drop off, KR pulled over. We got our bags out. We said goodbye to her and hugged.

 Tickets on Southwest

We had 1.5 hours to wait for the plane. Got thru TSA, who were very friendly. Not like we thought it was going to be...

TSA guy told kid going thru the line who asked what to do with his water. "Last time I check, water was still a liquid." That was SO funny to us.

We got Starbucks and sat for a while there. People watched. Lots of people just abandoning their bags. Then we decided to go wait on the Concourse.

We were the last to load. Had to sit separately. Hubby in the back of the plane. Me at Emergency Exit with a young couple.

The young couple mostly ignored me. The girl was on her Facebook, Texting on her iPhone, AND watching a downloaded Reality Show on her iPad!

Almost Cruising Altitude

It was a very bumpy flight the whole way. Then the pilot dropped us like a ROCK when landing in Vegas. The plane came in way too fast.

Had to wait for hubby to get off the plane as he was the last one off! He had to get my bag as the only place to store it had been in the back of the plane several rows behind where I was sitting. I exchanged conversation with a woman that was waiting for her daughters to get off the plane!

We got on the Tram to the outside of the Airport in a Mall area. Both of us had to use the restrooms right away. Then we got a Taxi in the Taxi line. Had to take #17 because some big guy outside was directing them. The taxi was old, stank, and the driver spoke no english what-so-ever. 15 minute ride was over $40.

At Enterprise we got great service from Curtis.

Rent-A-Wreck from Enterprise

But the Jeep Cherokee we got was pig-slow and a surging piece of crap. Hubby would have his foot to the floor and it would not accelerate. Dangerous in heavy congested traffic.

Ate at Chik-Fil-A just a few blocks from Enterprise. Food was very good. Sat outside because it was very busy there.

Chick-Fil-A

Drove to Mesquite. Long drive with the rent-a-wreck surging the whole way.

Arrived in Mesquite and checked into the Virgin River Hotel. Smokey. Nice kid checked us into our room on the 4th Building, Room 308.

Cheap $27 rooms. Double Queen beds. Only a thin paper-thick blanket between 2 sheets. Odd.

We drove around the town getting familiar with the area. Got gasoline. Went to Walmart for apples, oranges, and snacks.
Our First Sight of New Subdivision

I was exhausted. So we went back to our room. Too cold. Thin blanket. I slept in my clothes for warmth.

Took a hot shower at 5AM because of cramps.

JANUARY 1 2018

WELCOME TO 2018

Another year.

Got up at 7AM to let Wilson outside. We are monitoring him because he escapes out the fence.

I gave tuna to the kitties.

Made lattes.

Hubby made eggs for the dogs.

Did laundry & dishes.

Did Invoices for RMOR.

Left for Spokane.

Drove to DaVi Nails in Walmart. They were too busy to wait on New Year's Day. So we picked up cat litter boxes, more cat litter, tiny shampoo & conditioner bottles.

Drove to Spokane Valley and had drinks at a restaurant. They had bad service and the building stank. We left. Drove to Dave's Bar and ate there. It was good. Great service.

Drove home.

Watched TV. Got ready for trip. Packed.

Watched new episodes of Lovesick. Went to bed at 10:30PM.
