TUESDAY JANUARY 2

TUESDAY
JANUARY 2

Up at 5:30AM to wash my hair.

Packed and loaded dogs in Dodge truck. When hubby backed it out, it got stuck (2WD) in the snow. I went inside to get the keys for the Jeep and by that time, he had gotten it unstuck.

Drove to KR's. Ben got loose and ran off. Then Beebo & Wilson almost got out of the house because KR did not shut the door behind her as she came out of the garage. I ran off to find Ben and he came running. We took him inside.

Hubby drove to the shop in the Dodge so that he could get stuff going for this morning. I rode in KR's Jeep with her to pick up hubby.

We picked up hubby after he parked the Dodge at the Post Falls shop.

KR gave me a Birthday card.

KR drove us to the Spokane Airport. and we unloaded. I had forgotten to check in 24 hours before the flight; so I had to check in on Southwest Airline App on the drive to the Airport. At the drop off, KR pulled over. We got our bags out. We said goodbye to her and hugged.

 Tickets on Southwest

We had 1.5 hours to wait for the plane. Got thru TSA, who were very friendly. Not like we thought it was going to be...

TSA guy told kid going thru the line who asked what to do with his water. "Last time I check, water was still a liquid." That was SO funny to us.

We got Starbucks and sat for a while there. People watched. Lots of people just abandoning their bags. Then we decided to go wait on the Concourse.

We were the last to load. Had to sit separately. Hubby in the back of the plane. Me at Emergency Exit with a young couple.

The young couple mostly ignored me. The girl was on her Facebook, Texting on her iPhone, AND watching a downloaded Reality Show on her iPad!

Almost Cruising Altitude

It was a very bumpy flight the whole way. Then the pilot dropped us like a ROCK when landing in Vegas. The plane came in way too fast.

Had to wait for hubby to get off the plane as he was the last one off! He had to get my bag as the only place to store it had been in the back of the plane several rows behind where I was sitting. I exchanged conversation with a woman that was waiting for her daughters to get off the plane!

We got on the Tram to the outside of the Airport in a Mall area. Both of us had to use the restrooms right away. Then we got a Taxi in the Taxi line. Had to take #17 because some big guy outside was directing them. The taxi was old, stank, and the driver spoke no english what-so-ever. 15 minute ride was over $40.

At Enterprise we got great service from Curtis.

Rent-A-Wreck from Enterprise

But the Jeep Cherokee we got was pig-slow and a surging piece of crap. Hubby would have his foot to the floor and it would not accelerate. Dangerous in heavy congested traffic.

Ate at Chik-Fil-A just a few blocks from Enterprise. Food was very good. Sat outside because it was very busy there.

Drove to Mesquite. Long drive with the rent-a-wreck surging the whole way.

Arrived in Mesquite and checked into the Virgin River Hotel. Smokey. Nice kid checked us into our room on the 4th Building, Room 308.

Cheap $27 rooms. Double Queen beds. Only a thin paper-thick blanket between 2 sheets. Odd.

We drove around the town getting familiar with the area. Got gasoline. Went to Walmart for apples, oranges, and snacks.
Our First Sight of New Subdivision

I was exhausted. So we went back to our room. Too cold. Thin blanket. I slept in my clothes for warmth.

Took a hot shower at 5AM because of cramps.
