SOFTLY Kit

As promised, here is my first full kit.
There are 12 soft papers in blue, pink, lavender & green;

Filled with unusual elements, it has a vintage feel.

Hope you enjoy it.

I have broken the kit up so that it is not too big to download.

LINKS ARE IN THE SIDEBAR AT THE LEFT!

Don't forget to leave a comment. I really enjoy reading all the comments. Thanks so very much!

I work with a combination of both Adobe Photoshop & Paintshop; sort of a hybrid between the two!

In other news...Yahoo has gone crazy and is duplicating email. I noticed that I have 1750 emails in 2 days. It is still downloading them. I wonder if Yahoo knows it is a problem.

And I am still struggling with internet access problems. As I have satellite internet provider, I am used to having service problems during inclement weather. But when the sun is shining, and there are nothing between our dish and the satellite, it is indeed odd...not to mention totally frustrating!!!

Theresa Hernandez who owns www.ndisb.com is having a nightmare. The server that hosts the site decided to update and in the process wiped out many sites. I heard that a few other digital sites were missing due to this huge human error. My heart goes out to them as they work out the kinks to get up & running again. Hugs Theresa!

Hubby took off before the crack of dawn today to go on the first 4-wheel drive trip of the year..."Cabin Fever Run". He took a couple friends with him. I sincerely hope he is ok as this will be the first time we have not gone together. My foot is still bad and I can barely walk; so going on this trip without ice for over 8 hours would not have been good. The dog and I will stay home, work on more designs & layouts. Maybe even watch a little TV!

Hope your Saturday is good.

Back Up!

Yippee!

The sun is shining, it is warm outside, birdies are singing, my computer is at home and working happily, and I have internet service again!

But I lied. I will give out my complete KIT...Softly...tomorrow.

Today, I will give you some beautiful Easter eggs.

Get the eggs HERE

We shipped off the 4th Easter box to our daughter and son-in-law; we put money into the plastic Easter eggs and "hid" them in the box. LOL!

PostScript-My friends at www.NDSIB.com are having problems with the server that hosts their site. They are temporarily down, but hope to be back up soon. Please bear with them through this horrible situation.

NO INTERNET

I have had no internet for the last 2 days since my computer was returned. Which astonishes me as the sun has been shining and there are no clouds or interference whatsoever.

Hughes.net satellite connectivity also indicates nothing wrong, yet there is no service.

I am hopeful that Verizon will get DSL to us soon. It is spring, and that is when they had committed to have it up and running. Will have hubby call a couple buddies on that side of the installation and ask for status.

And Away Goes Trouble Down the Drain

We really could have used roto rooter today. Greg went to take a shower and found that sewage had backed up into the basement. Our basement was flooded in 1 inch of sewage. Our septic had backed up again.
After hubby dug up the septic tank and finding that the problem was a massive blockage at the exit from the house, he managed to drain it with water. While he was in the middle of digging it up, the heavens opened up and rain POURED down along with hail; not 30 minutes later...the sun was shining. Tomorrow we are going to call some carpet cleaners to handle the rest. It is so depressing. Yucky & Stinky. I haven't even gone downstairs to assess all the damage.
If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.

Broken, I'm so Broken

The doctor said I have a stress fracture in my foot. Probably from exercise. This is the best shape I have probably been in my life, and I hurt worse now than ever before. Flat on my back, ice on my foot. No exercise. Also on a low-dose painkiller, so I am kinda floating.

No computer to create with. I am going insane. There are all these designs and LOs flying through my head, and nowhere to put them down. The parts for the computer had to be ordered and MIGHT get her by Tuesday...or Wednesday. Ty is on my BAD list...unless the computer performs well and above what he promises...even then I will think twice before taking it into him again.

The laptop I have been using has none of our passwords, none of the cookies, none of the Favorites bookmarked on the main one. It is totally frustrating not being able to pull up any blogs I read, having to type in my favorite sites, not being able to log into sites as I do not have my passwords.

I even had to call the bank the other day to access our on-line checking. How pathetic.

After getting my hair done on Wednesday, we picked up a new spring bed covering at LinensNThings, then Greg took me to Olive Garden. I got Manicotti Formaggio, while Greg ordered Shrimp Primavera and sorry Kelsey, we had BREADSTICKS.

I took pics, but cannot post them without my PS program.

After this wonderful day out, I honestly thought the small ache in my foot was healing. But by the time we got home, I was in so much pain and my left foot had swollen to balloon-like size; Greg was ready to run me into the emergency room. So I soaked it in hot water and waited until Thursday morning to run in for x-rays. Just as I predicted, the doctor said..."stay off it, no high-heels (this said to a woman who does not own a shoe with less than 3" heels!) ice on it, take medication for pain." But no predictions of how long it was take to heal if I follow his advice.

While having to endure doing nothing in my bedroom, a little irritating bird has decided to peck at the wood on the outside of our home, right next to my bed.

Apropos of nothing: my next home will be somewhere where it is warm all the time, has large 12x12 decorative floor tile with radiant heating; and no exposed wood on the outside. Preferably with a small pool and hot tub. Plus...I want a majority of the lighting in a tiffany style as the shades are so colorful and interesting.

The kids called yesterday? the day before? I dunno. Again...too many drugs. Matt wants to get into a program where he is a AF spy. So we told him Go For It~ "Hi, My name is Bond. Matt Bond~"! He is living the life we all dream about. Young, exciting opportunities, your whole career ahead. Wow. It probably won't help his spy capabilities if his mother goes blogging and lets everyone KNOW he is a spy! Please wipe this paragraph from your memory.
THIS PARAGRAPH WILL DESTRUCT IN 10 SECONDS.

Bad News

There was a backlog of work at the computer repair. So I will not be able to do anything until Friday. All my passwords and work is on my main computer. I am currently using the laptop just to blog. I suppose I better make sure all my passwords are written down (for security purposes!-LOL).

I have also sprained my left foot and have been confined to bed until it is better. Don't ask...

It rained all last night and most of today.

Happy Almost Spring

The sun did manage to shine for a short while today. We quickly washed the dog. The rest of the day was spent in a relaxing fog of computer time and TV. Mindless activity.
I am taking my computer into the shop tomorrow. Hopefully, I will have it back by Tuesday.
I will be giving out a full KIT out when it is returned to me. Please be patient. Thank you.

I'm Seeing STARS!

Happy St. Paddy's Day! Are you wearing green?
If not...come closer so I can pinch you!

Grrrrr. There are no clouds in the sky; It's a clear day and blue sky as far as you can see. Yet...I still have internet service that is slower than molasses on a cold day in December.

Verizon has promised that we will have DSL by Spring.

The other night as hubby and I were going to bed quite late, we stepped out onto the deck and enjoyed the fresh air along with the night stars. They were so beautiful in the crisp dark. So I got up the next morning to give you...STARS ALL OVER THE WORLD. Get them HERE.

(Blogger won't add the preview pic. I will try again later.)

I hate blogger and it hates me. In addition to snail Internet service, it took me 15 times b4 this pic would post.

While doing these, I decided there were never too many stars. And thus STARS IN THE SKIES came along, too.Pick them up HERE.

And don't forget that you can get that FREE Mega kit at www.NDISB.com with a $6 purchase from the store. Get a coupon code in the NDezine Magazine for this awesome collaborative kit.

More Freebies Soon!

As soon as I recover complete satellite service, I will upload some FREEBIES.

We had severe clouds all day which ruined my satellite internet. I got a quick second to post this.

Keep watching. Thanks.

Where DOES The Time Go?

I looked at the date of my last post. It was THREE days ago. Where does the time go? I am supposed to blog everyday. Otherwise my Alzheimer's will catch up with me and I won't know who I am or what I am doing.

Yesterday I had a telephone call from my daughter in the UK; We talked for quite a bit until my hand went weak from holding the phone. It always lifts my heart to hear from her.

Then I worked a little bit on some more freebies that I will have ready to post this weekend. It is so exciting to me that people enjoy what I am doing. It brings me so much pleasure to create and give it away. I also am scrapping a fun page and will post that soon...hopefully.

And I just need to let you know that it is so exciting to hear from all of you from. It is amazing that there is an ability at our fingertips to contact people all around the world. I read ALL the comments and it touches my heart that you appreciate the things I put out. You are all very welcome. Thank you for all the kind comments.

And yesterday I was busy downloading stuff from my hangout-NDISB.

The March Collaborative kit is coming out soon. Primavera de Firenze. You cannot believe the amount of things in this kit and they are so very beautiful. Bright, colorful, delightful. Designed for YOU by the talented Designers & Artists - Amanda Stevens, Anita Stergiou, Barb Speck, Becky Clawson, Cindy Simon, Helena Jole, Lori Giles, Monica McClain, Nina, SherArt, TaniaJPS, Theresa Hernandez!

P.S. A cheeseburger bird is the name that my husband and I adopted for the little birds that hang out around here. Their birdsong sounds like "Cheez-bur-ger!" We THINK it might be a western chickadee. I found a site that has audio birdsongs on it and that bird was the closest we could find.

TWIRLY, TWIRLY, TWIRLY

*****

I have been trying for several hours to get this uploaded.
Since I don't really know what to call these, I dubbed them...TWIRLYS.
Staying in the "green" theme for St. Patrick's Day.
These will go all the way across a 12x12 page.
NO DROP SHADOWS.
Hope you like the freebie.
Pick them up HERE
On Saturday, I'm looking forward to raising a few pints
in observance of the day!
Today the sun was shining and the spring looked sprung.
The cheeseburger birds were out in abundance.
Isabelle wandered out on the deck while the door was open
to the fresh, brisk air.
She soaked up quite a bit of the sun while
snoring in the dreams of her doggy world.

Animation

I used to hate Blinkys. Now, I don't hate them as much.
This is what I hashed out today.

Tired

Daylight Savings Time has kicked in and I got no sleep what-so-ever.

I feel like a zombie.

Working hard on my next freebie.

Today was 50 degrees, but the wind continued to blow from early last night until now.

The snow is gradually melting, but there are still mounds that are over 4 feet high.

DAYLight Savings Time

Don't forget to set your clocks correctly.

Spring Forward. Fall Behind.

There will be more freebies coming.

It doesn't help when I get off schedule

We had to run into town today for errands, groceries, and hubby's physical therapy.

At the end of the day, I felt so out of sorts...out of my element. Where did all the hours go?

When we got back home, after unloading all the groceries and answering phone message and going through the mail; I was not interested in exercising. My bad.

So here it is...almost 1AM in the morning...and I still have to go tan.

Hubby's sitting on the couch watching the late night shows, trying to unwind.

I Got BLING!

DID YOU KNOW: St. Patrick's day is the feast day which annually celebrates Saint Patrick (386-493), the patron saint of Ireland, on March 17. It is the Irish national holiday and one of the public holidays in the Republic of Ireland; the overseas territory of Montserrat; and the Canadian provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the United States it is widely celebrated, although not an official holiday.

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: It became a public holiday only in 1903 by the Bank Holiday (Ireland) Act 1903, an Act of the United Kingdom Parliament introduced by the Irish MP James O'Mara

O'Mara later introduced the law which required that pubs be closed on March 17, a provision which was repealed only in the 1970s!!!

(info from www.wikipedia.com)

So...in commemoration of my Irish ancestors...*I've got red hair. There must be some there someplace!

I bring you...St. Patrick's BLING.

You can get the Bling & a few added bits not included in the preview HERE

Please remember to celebrate; but don't drink & drive.

Thru Rain and Sleet and Snow

Yep. We have the toughest UPS drivers in the world!

I couldn't believe it when our regular UPS driver-Kyle; showed up in shorts today to deliver my hair combs that had been ordered over the internet. He laughingly cooperated when I grabbed my camera to get this shot of him. Told him the folks in Calif would not believe this.

Yes. That snowbank behind is 4 FEET TALL! And even though the sun is shining brightly, there were snowflurries.

Our propane tank was filled today to the tune of $350.00. OMG! And that is the 2nd time we had it filled this year. We definitely need to move to a warmer climate just to save money and while talking to the "Barrel Guy" - Mike down in A-town, Greg found out that he has a home in San Carlos, Mexico. Seems like a lot of retirees are moving there and the town is about 80 percent Americans/Canadians. Property seems reasonable. I'm likin' the idea of living on the bay with ocean views out the windows, a beautiful beach, and a wonderful marina for the boat. Just an idea...

We found out yesterday that our yard light had been shot out by vandals so we had to call the electric co-op to repair it. Joe came over and plowed some more; then stayed to keep Greg company down at the shop while they worked on VZ Matt's Jeep.

After a wonderful meal of Lasagne & garlic bread, I played around on designing some new stuff. Greg watched Daytona 500 Memories & Lobstermen...Jeopardy at Sea.

I will probably release my St. Patrick's Bling tomorrow.

Hotel Key Fobs & Keys FREEBIE

Well, it's been a couple days, so here's another Freebie.

Before hotels & motels would assign you a key card, they used to have Key Fobs with keys attached to them. Usually the Key Fobs would have the number of the room, along with the name & address of the hotel so they could be returned through the mail if you "accidentally" forgot to return the room key!

I found out that these are quite a collector's item...along with key cards. Most coveted are the cards/fobs found from the Caribbean resorts or exclusive European hotels.

You can get them
HERE

In other news, we got another 4 inches of snow. And as there was a horrific pile-up of over 50 cars on Snoqualamie Pass, Greg does not want to go to Seattle on our planned get-away! Our daughter suggested we fly...but with snow and ice...I'm not too enamored with that idea, either. So we will put it off until April; and hopefully things will be more spring-like.

Please visit http://www.ndisb.com. Great forums; Great designers; Awesome Friends.
