FRIDAY / JULY 21 / JEEP TRIP TO TOQUERVILLE FALLS / SHOWERS

FRIDAY
JULY 21 2023

Up at 5AM. I only slept in the living room on the sofa for 1 hour.

Hubby got up and let the dogs outside.

Hubby cleaned cat litter. I vacuumed.

Yogi Window Cleaning, Tejbir, Jose, and Desi came at 7AM. They cleaned the windows by 8PM. I paid and re-scheduled.

We packed everything up in the Jeep and loaded the dogs.

Drove to Maverik in Mesquite to get fuel. Drove the back highway to get on the Interstate at Littlefield. Interstate was not too backed up, but we avoided it anyway.

Took the Southern Parkway around St George. Very nice ride. Listened to "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town" from several different singers.

In Hurricane, we did the drive-thru at Tropical Smoothie Cafe to get Bahama Mama smoothies and Hubby got a couple wraps.

Drove to Arby's for burgers to feed the dogs. Then we drove to the Park in town  Went to use the Restrooms. Very clean and flushing. Walked the dogs and then had our picnic on a picnic table in the shade.

We drove to Toquerville and got off the road.

Spend the next 2 hours driving up the trail to Toquerville, Falls. Got lost and drove all the way up the mountain to the Cell Tower. Turned around and went back.

Finally found the Falls. Road was bumpy, rocky, awful.

Some family was there when we got there. Walked the dogs thru the water. Wilson swam, but did not want to. He tried to stay by the bank. Tater thundered thru the water. It was not deep enough for him to swim.

TATER, HUBBY, WILSON AT TOQUERVILLE FALLS

Wiped the dogs off with towels and loaded them into the Jeep.

We sat on the chairs while Hubby drank a beer. It was SO hot. Still 101 degrees F. The dogs stayed in the truck with the A/C running.

We finally left and Hubby decided to take the trail across the stream that would cross the river about 10 more times.

Finally realizing after we got stuck in one of the river crossings that the 4WD would not stay engaged, we finally got out and continued. But it was WAY too rocky for the dogs. Tater got scared and kept putting his head up by my arm which bruised my arm.  Wilson was on the floor and scared. Not a good time for them.

We finally joined up on Spring Road again and got back after 2 hours on the trail. It was way too long for the dogs.

We stopped at the beginning of the trail and walked the dogs for potty. I fixed the sleeping bag in the back seat as it had slid off the seat.

Stopped at Quick Quack Car Wash. Then pulled over so Hubby could wipe it down and vacuum out the dirt inside on the floor mats.
We drove home the Southern Parkway again. Dogs were fast asleep in the back seat.

Hubby drove to Smith's to get milk and Krispy Kreme donuts.

We drove home.

I was exhausted. Got into the shower, washed my hair. Then had Hubby bring Wilson in the shower to wash him. I had to get out of the shower to dry him off. Hubby was busy unloading the Jeep.

I collapsed on the sofa for 1 hour, then dried my hair later.

We watched Hogan's Heroes. I dried my hair. I took a nap on the sofa.

I went to bed at 9:30PM. I could barely stay awake.

Hubby took a shower at 10PM and washed Tater. They came to bed later.
