SATURDAY / TRIP TO IDAHO DAY 3

SATURDAY
6-3-2023

Up late at 7AM. I dressed and we walked the dogs around the hotel. I left peanuts from our snack on the tree for the squirrel.

Then we returned and Hubby went to pick up breakfast for the dogs & himself. I took the dogs up in the elevator (with one of the maids standing in the corner).

I got the collars off the dogs and Hubby got there with food to feed them.

I took a shower and washed/dried my hair. The shampoo and conditioner were wonderful. Need to find out what they are and order some when we return home.

We watched the original Lethal Weapon on TV while we were eating and getting ready.

Walked the dogs again. Observed the Gun Show that was happening across the way.

I took nuts over to the squirrel in the tree that we saw last night.

Left the hotel and Hubby drove around to the front entry to get his receipt.

Stopped at gas station next door to hotel and got Diesel Fuel.

GETTING FUEL AT GAS STATION NEXT TO HOTEL

Hubby pulled over in a medical parking lot and parked so he could walk over to get lattes at Dutch Bros. They tasted like dirt. No flavoring can be tasted at all.

DUTCH BROS LATTES

Drove to Truck/RV Wash across the Interstate. Drove thru as there was nobody waiting. Only cost $40 to clean the truck.

Then we got on the Interstate.

Drove to Bliss, ID and got off there on the old highway 84. Stopped to walk dogs in a park, read about the big gorge, train thru the town, and stage stop, get fuel, and buy lottery tickets. Hubby got a latte at an Espresso stand there. Not bad coffee.

Hubby got on the Interstate again, but had forgotten his lottery tickets. We drove to the next exit and turned around to go get them.

Then we left Bliss again and drove towards Twin Falls, stopped to look at the Bridge over the Falls. Walked the dogs along a path there.

Got on the Interstate 84 again, but missed the exit to go south. We had to turn around and go back 20 miles to Hwy 93. Drove thru back roads.

Finally got on 93 after driving thru the old town of Twin Falls and seeing some festival.

STOPPED FOR DOG WALK AT BRIDGE OVER TWIN FALLS, ID

Driving south, Hubby saw a sign advertising Nat-Soo-Pah Hot Springs. We drove down the road and Hubby parked to go inside and check it out but there were lots of kids playing in water. We thought it best not to leave dogs in truck as it was hot and no shade to park.

We left there and continued on Hwy 93 to Jackpot. Walked the dogs again, gave them water & meat jerky snacks and continued on 93 south.

Stopped in Wells, NV to get fuel at Flying J then decided to eat at the Iron Horse again. It was raining and cold. Left the dogs in the truck. Had dinner again. Our waitress was Honesty. I asked her the name of the girl from the other night. I had a gross grilled cheese sandwich with coffee. Hubby had chopped sirloin with gravy & potatoes. He cut it up for the dogs and we took a to-go box.

I had made reservations for a Ramada Inn hotel in Ely, NV. Everything else was full for that night in town.

Left them and drove on south 93. It was raining again.

In Ruth, just before Ely, Hubby had to find out what an abandoned building was so we drove over to it (they were also holding a music festival in town) We discovered an abandoned Copper Mining factory buildings. It looked like a ghost town as people had just walked away from their desks and left everything there including time cards.

We walked the dogs and gave them water.

We drove thru to Ely and the hotel looked awful. I called from the gas station in Ely at 6:07PM and told them we could not make our reservation. The woman who answered was rude and refused to cancel. I told her we would not pay for it.

We decided to just try to drive thru home.

Continued thru the night driving.

Stopped at Ash Springs and was having heart problems. Hubby tried to find Nitro pills, but he only had dust in his container. He told me that he had packed some but could not find any.

Some idiot guy was racing his motorcycle past our truck as we stopped.

I finally took a massive amount of aspirin and we drove on.

Stopped in Alamo for fuel. Lots of semis there with lights on parked in parking lot. I walked the dogs then Hubby got done with fuel and came over to help walk dogs.

I went inside to potty. Nice bathrooms. I talked to a lady cleaning the bathrooms. They also showers in the bathrooms.

Hubby went to potty then we left.

MOON OVER HIGHWAY IN NEVADA

Drove all the way home.

Unpacked everything at home. Dogs drank lots of water. They were exhausted.

Went to bed at 11PM.
