THURSDAY / MAY 9 / TRAVEL TO IDAHO & OREGON / PICK UP TANK & CAMPER

THURSDAY
MAY 9 2024

As I had mentioned, the sleep was awful at the hotel. I kept waking up every 30 minutes to see the clock on the microwave, there were noisy semi trucks outside, I kept hearing weird noises and thought somebody was trying to break into the room, the dog kept waking me up.

By 5AM, I could not sleep any more. Hubby woke up majorly sick from his marijuana cookie. He was nauseous, dizzy, and sweaty.

I took the dogs out separately to potty. Needed to go out the side door of the hotel, but could not get back in that way. Have to WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND TO THE FRONT DESK. Riley had to pee just as we got out the door. She pooped right away. I picked it all up with doggy bag and tossed it into their containers. Then I had to walk to the front entrance. Really nice woman was there at the front desk - Bree. I talked to her and she loved on Riley.

I went to pick up Tater and walked him. He peed and pooped. We went back inside. Saw Bree again. She loved on Tater.

By 5:30AM, we were leaving the hotel and heading North. Had to turn around at the stop sign in town because I forgot my home pillow at the hotel. Hubby went inside to get it. Then we got on the road again.

SUNRISE IN WELLS, NV

Drove to Jackpot, NV and stopped to get fuel at the gas station. Both of us used the potty. Then we drove to the huge grassy area across the road and walked the dogs. Gave them lots of water.

We got back on the Highway. Entered Idaho.

Drove to Twin Falls, ID.

Stopped to get fuel again and walked the dogs.

Long boring drive on Interstate 84 to Boise. Stinky as usual. Lots of construction and narrowed road.

Tater was whiny just as we got into Nampa and we pulled off the Interstate into the same off ramp that we had done the last time we were here. It made me sad as we had Wilson with us last time...

We walked the dogs. Both of them peed and pooped. Got lots of water. We got back on the Interstate and drove to Caldwell, ID.

Drove to Custom Roto Molding 307 Evans St, Caldwell, ID 83605 to pick up the tank and arrived there by 11AM. Got it loaded and tied down.

I mapped us the back way to Emmett, ID as we drove alongside a river. It was beautiful. Stopped in Emmett downtown at a bakery/restaurant called Fourth Street Fusion. Wondefully delicious KOLACHES. I got a chicken bacon ranch. Hubby got sausage & potato. We also got some donuts (that were NOT flavored with sugar).

MOUTH WATERING KOLACHES!

We walked the dogs and gave them water.

At 12:30PM, we drove to Rugged Mountain Custom RV and were there for the next 4 hours, touring, going over camper, loading camper on to the truck, putting our stuff into the camper. The owners wanted us to stay the night, but it was early and sun did not set until 9PM, so we wanted to camp in an area we could walk the dogs, not a concrete parking lot. We left by 4:00PM.

LOADING CAMPER AT RUGGED MOUNTAIN RV

Drove to Ontario, OR and stopped at the Walmart there to buy a step ladder and pillows for the bed. We walked the dogs by the grassy area and gave them water. We also gave them a little dry kibble. Hubby went into Walmart while we waited in the shade and the A/C of the truck.

Hubby stopped to get latte in the nearby parking lot, but the rude girl said they were closing, so he abruptly left.

We drove to Burns, OR and stayed at the Burns RV park just at the border of town. Alongside a river. Lots of birds, ducks, geese. Bugs. Called the guy on the phone as the RV Park was closed and he just said leave $30 in cash at the front door.

We parked overnight and had lunch on the picnic table. Walked the dogs all over the park. We were going to have showers, but had forgotten to bring/buy towels or soap. Stupid.

Went to bed and slept on the nice mattress. Dogs were happy. We left open the overhead vent and it was nice sleeping under the comforter with cool air. Tater was cold and tried to crowd us out. We had forgotten his blanket in the truck.
