FRIDAY - MAGGIE'S LAST DAY

FRIDAY
7-3-2015

Got up at 7:30. Hubby was already sitting on the couch with Bud and watching TV. He had been up since 6:00.

Hubby made eggs for the dogs with ham & bacon.

Maggie ate quite a lot.

We watched a little of a James Bond movie on tv; then got the dogs ready & went down to the park to walk them. Hubby got a latte on the way.

Walked them at Gun Shooting Road, but Maggie could not walk very far. We gave her water. She was already panting. We turned around and went back to the Excursion.

Maggie has to rest during the walk

On the way home, she barked at some bikers & some people walking on the road.

At home, hubby went down to talk to Mark at the shop while I did more homework.

Then we took Maggie down to the Beach at Farragut Boat Loading dock to walk her in the water. There were WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE & BOATS there. Boats were parked up the road leading to the dock area. It was awful.

She swam in the water for a while.

Then we drove down to Bayview, but it was even more crowded. They were having Bayview Dayz.

We went to CDA to see the Model Home, but it was closed. We drove around the neighborhood and looked at what they were building & went inside the same model, but in the process of it being built. Maggie stayed in the air-conditioned truck and waited for us.

Then we drove over to Wendy's to get her a burger. She did not want to eat it. I had to break it up into little tiny pieces for her.

Maggie's Last Car Ride

We drove home. Got her favorite red blanket.

Hubby met the guy that is supposed to detail the boat. He was in the driveway outside the house.

Then went down to the Vet's and sat in the shade of a tree on the grass until they called us in.

We weighed her. She was only 118. She had lost over 20 pounds in the last 2 weeks.

The assistants took her into the back room and gave her an I.V. while we paid for the visit. They did not want to move her into a room because she was so big. So we laid down beside her. (some FAT assistant was trying to hold her down and was in our way...) Maggie went awfully quickly. Her head dropped. Hubby was holding her head and he caught her. She was gone. The Vet listened to her heart. Then he told us she was gone. We left. Hubby was crying.

 Maggie is Gone

We went home. Had a little lunch. I made tea.

Went to feed the deer. Lil Bit escaped and ran into the woods. Had to put Bud, Ben, and Lil Bit back into the house. Walked down to the big shop and closed the doors.

Came back to the house and watched TV. I felt bloated and uncomfortable. Lots of diarrhea.
