MOTHER'S DAY TRIP TO BEAR LAKE, IDAHO

MOTHER'S DAY TRIP TO BEAR LAKE, IDAHO
SATURDAY MAY 8, SUNDAY MAY 9, MONDAY MAY 10

SATURDAY
MAY 8

Up at 6AM. Hubby loaded camper. We packed clothes and food. Loaded dogs into truck.

Stopped at the Gas Station by the Eureka to get the propane filled, but the idiot guy could not do it. So we wasted about 20 minutes doing that.

The CO2 alarm was going off in the camper because power was not getting to the battery and we were out of propane.

We drove to The Creamery in Beaver, UT for cheese curds and walked dogs. Got fuel in Beaver, UT. Walked dogs at a community center and had to pick stickers out of my shoes.

WILSON RIDING IN TRUCK

Stopped at Perry, Utah Walmart to get a battery for the camper and a pillow as we had taken all the pillows inside the house to wash them and not put them back. Only had 1 pillow.

We drove around north Salt Lake to find Propane, but all the places were closed.

Finally found a Flying J and we had to back-track a mile because we passed it on the Interstate. Filled the propane. The guy was TERRIFIED of the dogs, but I had to walk them.

Got on Interstate 15 again and headed north.

Then we drove to Logan. Nice, quaint, older town. Stopped for Smoothies at Jamba Juice. Then we got turned around. Hubby wanted to go this way, but my Google Maps told me to go to Idaho and in the north side. 2 hours longer drive. It was high in the Cache National Forest with snow.

Finally got to campground as the sun was going down about 7PM. We got set up.

Hubby made a fire, but it was 40 degrees F outside and too cold for the dogs. Tater started shivering even with a blanket and his sweaters he was wearing. We went inside the camper, turned up the heat to 80 degrees and went to bed.

SUNDAY
MAY 9
MOTHER'S DAY

Up at 10AM after a very nice sleep. Hubby thinks we sleep better in the camper.

Hubby runs off to the vault toilets for potty. I made lattes and warm up the dog's breakfast egg bake.

Then I walk the dogs over to the toilet to meet Hubby and we continue to walk around the park. The dogs potty.

We got back to the camper and fed the dogs. Loaded everything up, but left the chairs and cooler at our campsite.

Drive to Fish Haven and start looking at properties. We find several that might suit. But they are expensive. More than I am willing to pay.

We go into Garden City and purchase a latte with a Raspberry Cinnamon roll from Moose Buns. It is a cute latte stand, the girl that serves us is Courtney and she hands us a lot of business cards for local businesses. I purchase a sweatshirt and post card from their gift shop.

We drive around some more. Then decide we are hungry for lunch.

Stop at Cooper's for lunch. The girl at the coffee stand recommended it. Obviously, the only restaurant open in town at this time of year.

The waiter is great at first, but then later he gets very quiet. Hubby had wings & clam chowder. He said it was good. I get an appetizer of scallops wrapped in bacon. They are VERY salty. Kinda undercooked.

We walked the dogs after lunch in the parking lot next to the golf course and get stickers in Wilson's fur and his leash. They are HUGE stickers. Hubby picks them off with a knife and paper towel. Yuck.

Wilson has not been eating very well. He did not have breakfast bake. Instead, we have to stop and purchase dried jerky for him to eat. Hubby stops at the local gas station and talks to a local that works there. Very nice guy with a long white beard. He says that Salt Lake has "discovered this area" and it has exploded. Too many people in the summer.

So we decide to go back to the camper. It is getting colder.

We sit outside by the campfire for a while, but they it gets cold.

We go inside and go to bed. We are very tired. I took a couple Benadryl to try and sleep better. Hubby stayed up and looked at stuff on his iPad. Around 9PM, KR called with Amanda to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. KR accused me of being doped! I told her that I was in bed sleeping. They were in Hood River where they had met to have a girl's weekend with the puppies.

I went back to sleep after the phone call.

MONDAY
MAY 10

Up at 6AM. Neither of us could sleep anymore. It was cloudy, cold, and threatening to snow. We wanted to get out of town before the weather got worse. Could not see across the lake because of cloud cover.

We drove around the north end of the lake. It was pretty. Then stopped to get Jerky for Wilson again on the gas station out of town.

Drove thru the Cache National Forest again. Such a BEAUTIFUL drive. But Wilson farted & shit himself? He was in the back with Tater and came up front. I accidentally put my hand on his butt and had it covered in poop.

We had to pull over and clean his butt. It was awful. Lots of wipes and towels. Hubby took Tater down by the river to drink water and walk. It was pretty. Tater liked it. Then Hubby took both dogs while I pottied in the camper.

We continued our drive into Logan. Beautiful town. We stopped at the Maverike outside of town. I walked the dogs while Hubby put Diesel fuel in truck then went inside and got a breakfast burrito for himself and a sausage biscuit for me. It was warm and delicious. Yum.

Continued to drive. Listened to Mysterious Podcasts on Spotify.

South of Salt Lake, we stopped again for fuel. Walked dogs. Hubby went inside Beans & Brews store to get chocolate covered espresso beans and lattes. The drinks were too sugary. I ate a couple beans.

WILSON DRIVES TRUCK

Drove to Beaver, UT and stopped again for fuel. I walked dogs. We both pottied in the camper. So nice to use the potty in camper instead of public bathrooms.

Kept driving thru to Mesquite.

At home, we unloaded everything. Dogs were happy to be home.

Hubby dumped cat litter. Cats were VERY HAPPY to see us home. We gave them fresh tuna and shredded cheese for Rattler.

We sat on the back patio as it was a nice afternoon. I cleaned Hubby's ears.

Then the Florist delivery came. I got my Mother's Day flowers and then made him wait for a tip.

We watched TV - Hello Dolly because we had been listening to the soundtrack on Google Music.

Went to bed at 9PM.
