FOURTH OF JULY 2020/PICK UP TORINO IN ST GEORGE

SATURDAY
FOURTH OF JULY
7-4-2020

Up at 7AM. I made the bed

Then I made lattes. Hubby had already made eggs for dogs & fed them.

We watched a Travel Program on TV.

I put away dirty breakfast dishes in dishwasher.

Picked up dog poo. Started Roomba.

Hubby contacted a guy on Facebook Marketplace with a Torino. The Torino was still available and Hubby wanted to buy it. He had been watching this certain Sales listing since the Torino was listed at $2000 a few months ago. It is now down to $300.

So Hubby called on the listing and we got ready to go get it.

I drove the Expedition over to the Pioneer Center. We took the dogs with us. Hubby started the Dually and we loaded the dogs into it. I had to carry Wilson and I parked really close to the truck so Tater did not have to walk far on the hot tarmac.

Got the dogs loaded. I parked the car near the shade of a tree and put the sun shade in the front of the windshield.

We drove to Hurricane and went to Christensen Storage at 1575 State St, Hurricane, UT 84737. Met Richie and his Dad there as they were clearing out the storage unit.

Torino At Storage In Unit #19

I walked the dogs and gave them LOTS of water. Around the side of the storage units, Tater scared some chickens in the next door yard.

Then I loaded the dogs in the truck again as it was now 107 degrees by this time. I turned on the A/C as high as it would go. The guys pushed the car into the enclosed trailer.

We drove out of the Storage Unit and into Hurricane. Drove around the block to park next to Wendy's and get burgers for dogs. We walked the dogs so they could pee; then Hubby went inside to get burgers.

Ate the burgers in the truck. Some odd woman thought we were doing a 4-way stop and stopped to the right of us for a LONG time (IN THE PARKING LOT). She finally threw up her hands and drove past us. Weird. We both had our doors open and were OBVIOUSLY not at a 4-way stop! Idiot people.

Gave the dogs chicken nuggets and burgers.

We drove out and down Hwy 9 to Telegraph Street so we did not have to get on the Interstate. Saw a different side of Hurricane/Washington on this street. Hubby wanted to get fuel at Costco, but we forgot they were closed on the Fourth of July!

Stopped at Gas Station behind Costco and filled with Diesel.

Then we drove home. Dogs slept in back seat.

At home, we unloaded dogs into the Expedition. It was hot. Tater started panting immediately. I turned on A/C as high as it would go. Hubby unloaded everything from Dually. There were no other vehicles there in the lot, so he parked in the middle, away from the trees over hanging.

Drove back to the house. Got inside and turned A/C down to 72 degrees. Gave the dogs fresh water, let them out for potty. Gave dogs snacks.

I took a nap.

Hubby fell asleep on the sofa.

Then Dave, neighbor, came over to make sure we were coming for fireworks. Hubby gave him an apple pie.

We left at 8:45AM. Dave was waiting out by the garage for us. We took the UTV over behind them on Turtle Ridge to watch the fireworks. Some other people were there. We met Scott & Ray there. Somebody was smoking. It stank. We were too far away to see the fireworks, so it was not exciting. Dave turned on patriotic music that was supposed to be coordinated with the fireworks. It was over in 20 minutes or less. We drove back home.

We watched TV for a while, then I went to bed at 10PM. Hubby came to bed at 11PM.
