White Doesn't Stay White

I dare not wear white pants because they always end up dirty. Whether it be a spot or a smudge, by the end of the day I look like I have been run through a wringer!

When I was little, I was required to wear white gloves with my Girl Scout uniform. For the life of me, I can not understand how they were not black when I returned home.

White has been my nemesis. It dares me to wear it, then it fails me. And then taunts me by laughing at me hysterically.

Why is it that other women are able to wear white and look immaculate. Have they made a deal with the devil?

This thought comes as I look at my favorite white button-up sweater which I purchased from Victoria's Secret. It was a pure white when I received it. Now, 9 months later, it is a dingy grey.

Hubby's b-day went pretty well. I made him a delicious chili stew for dinner. He conked out on the couch and watched "PINKS" for the entire day! He also managed to run up to Sandpoint to pick up car parts. So I suppose he did the three things that every man loves to do.

1/Veg out on the couch
2/Watch sports on TV
3/Buy automotive parts

How about a cute little corner doodle? You can get it free HERE.

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Yesterday I cleaned the house from top to bottom, baked a cake, and got a card for the hubby. Today is his birthday.

So just a quick post.

Kelsey...did you call your dad on his birthday and wish him happy b-day?

I am working on something fun and will have it out soon!
Have a great Sunday!

Happy Arbor Day!

What about two alpha freebies today?

This will finish up parts 3 & 4 of my pin series!

Get the gold & silver alpha pins HERE.

And I have to say that not only is it Arbor Day, but it is also "Tell A Story Day".

The closer it gets to summer, the more wonderful life seems. I have had an awful cold for the past couple days, but with the sunshine out bursting through the clouds; warmer weather on the way...it cheers me up. I can already see the colors in the tightly closed buds of my tulips.

My hubby brought home the bacon the other day...LOL. And I cooked it up today. Isabelle slept at my feet as I was in the kitchen, and it was very challenging to maneuver around a large 140 pound dog! Once the bacon was finished, I gave her a little sample and she drug one eye open, her little tongue came out, and I popped the bit of bacon in! She promptly closed her eyes again and resumed snoring.

The pin & string alpha would look pefectly at home on a grungy LO. Get this alpha HERE .

Hope you all have great plans for the spring weekend!

Bad Link

So very sorry. My 4Shared account deleted my entire file for the HOPE Kit. I have updated the URL, but I am so sorry that all the comments are now gone.

4Shared has been so frustrating lately.

DUM SPIRO, SPERO

For some strange reason, I got onto this Latin phrase site and this motto just leapt out at me!

DUM SPIRO, SPERO = While I breathe, I hope.

I liked it so much, that I designed a kit around it.

There are 3 buttons, 1 pin, 3 papers & 2 polaroid frames.

Pick up the kit HERE.

Today the sun was shining and the dog wandered out onto the deck several times. Which reminds me that I need to find a doggy door that fits our sliding screen door. Big enough for a large Mastiff to go through.

We talked to the kids this weekend, and Kelsey is researching our Italy trip. We are heading over to the UK at the end of this year, and hopefully can visit Paris, and Italy, too. I'm so excited.

So as soon as I am liberated from my cast, I am going to whip myself into shape again. I feel so darned lazy and useless right now. Just walking around is a chore. I haven't vacuumed the floor in ages. Yuck. But I know that the more I rest my foot, the better it will heal.

I took a bath last night because the sponge bath was just not making me happy. My hubby stood and failingly suppressed his giggles, which then turned into full-out laughter. Watching me maneuver myself into the bath without getting my cast wet, then hitching myself out when I was finished. At least I was semi-clean and felt better. I shudder in horror at the thought of how long my leg hair will be when the cast comes off. Hope the doctor doesn't scream!

Rain, Rain Go Away

Our campfire fun was called on account of rain. We had a torrential, cold downpour. So there was no way that we were going to freeze our butts and get drenched! We hurried home to change out of our soaked clothes before we caught pneumonia!

So instead, we roasted our own marshmallows at home in front of the fireplace. And since my foot is throbbing from our outing, I am going to take some painkillers and will be out till mid-morning Sunday.

Hubby is already snoring on the couch. Better wake him up to go to bed. LOL!

HERE are the rest of the angels. Hope you like these, too!

Where's George?

When I got change from the store and I found a stamp on it a $1 to track the bill! www.wheresgeorge.com

The dollar bill that I have in my grimy little hands originated from Nimrod, Minnesota.

What fun to track money!

Speaking of fun, I want to keep you on the edges of your seats in anticipation, so I am not going to release my Safety Pins Part 3 yet.

You will have to keep checking back.

But...I will give you the first part of my Angels.

They were so pretty to make, I got carried away and had to force myself to stop.

Get them HERE

Tonight my husband promised friends that we would meet them in the park where they are camping and toast marshmallows with wine (and beer) over the campfire. He also told everybody about my cast and now every one we know wants to sign it. I think I will have to make padlocks next, to lock up his mouth!

Hopefully, I can find a pair of jeans to pull over my cast and enough sweaters to wear on top. It has been quite chilly at night here.

Angels

I was just thinking the other day that my baby is such an angel. And while walking into the corner fuel station, I saw these cute little angel pins on the counter. So I tried to create some. Now I am going to tune them up a little...

I will give them out soon!

THANK you very much for all your comments & concerns. I very much appreciate all your help and advice about the health of my foot! I am also intrigued about everyone's past & present foot health concerns. It seems like the foot is very important to overall day-to-day living! I will endeavour to take care and rest it as much as possible.

I am now working on my husband to get me a BowFlex system so that I can at least work out the rest of my body. I was really in the groove with my exercising. Before this happened, I could actually feel & see myself getting stronger & leaner.

Stay tuned for more pins tomorrow!

Don't Get Me Wrong

Don't get me wrong. I love my neighborhood. I enjoy living on our property. We have 20 acres of pristine wooded land. I have made trails throughout; trimmed the trees so it has a woodland look; we enjoy the wildlife meandering (except for the squirrels).

And there are some neighbors around here that are pretty nice.

Maybe my attitude was because I had grown so tired of being in pain with my foot. When I visited the specialist today, he indicated that it is BROKEN; and that I had ripped the fascia tendon on the back of my heel. I am now in a cast for the next 4 weeks.

So I think I will kick back and spend the rest of the day on the bed with my foot elevated. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and comments.

Paper Bag Corners by Karin M Designs at www.NDISB.com
Alpha Pin by designing on the edge
font-SP Toggle

Probably a pic of the best dog in the whole wide world. Isabelle is our Brazilian Mastiff. There is also a hint of what is to come tomorrow on this LO. More pins, duh!

And I HAD to have those Paper Bag Corners by Karin M. Designs over at www.NDISB.com

No. We did not find out what caused the explosion. It will have to remain one of those mysteries of life. However, I am now quite nervous. Maybe my fear will wear off after a while and I will feel safe in my own home, but you never know what the crazy neighbors are up to...I now fear a local meth lab or idiots playing with explosives.

We have one neighbor that set up a dirt bike track on his property that backs up to ours. And his teenage kid races constantly. I was praying that the cost of gas would rise so high that the father would limit the time on the bike. However, that was not to be. Our home, that which was once a quiet retreat now sounds like the middle of the Talladega Raceway.

I used to be able to hear the coyotes howling at night...the warbling of the wild turkeys...and the beautiful bellowing of the moose. Now, all I can hear at night are the neighbors' dogs barking incessantly. Without ceasing. All night. It's a miracle that I sleep as often as I do.

There is another neighbor behind us that shoots his guns constantly. Late at night...Early in the morning.

Yet another 2 more neighbors moved into the area with horses...stinky, poopy smelling horses. On a calm morning, I can smell the horse crap when I step out onto my deck. My former fresh air has sadly gone on walk-about!

Well, to look on the bright side, I have no drive-by shootings (yet). And my husband can still stand out on the side of the back deck and take his relief. There's just something about a guy that the refreshing of his soul can be achieved by peeing in the wild!

And I promised more pins. Here they are. There are 44 in all. Plus 4 bonus pins that are quite unusual.

Get them HERE. The password is april.
Part 3 tomorrow.

Blame It On The Rain

I was working on my computer last night at 2AM. Hubby was just getting home from working at the shop. A couple of his friends were just finishing changing their tires on the trucks, and he was waiting for them to lock up and leave.

When we heard AN EXPLOSION. Now. We live in an area out in the country where there are neighbors that shoot their guns sometimes. My husband has even been known to shoot some varmints (see previous posts); so I know the sound of a gunshot. But this was like nothing I have ever heard before. The floor shook as if in an earthquake, the windows rattled like they would shatter, and my dishes in the cabinets were rattling. But when we looked outside, there was no fireball, no fire, nothing lighting up the night sky. No smell of smoke. Very odd.

My husband thought that something had happened in the shop; but when he tore off to check down there, the guys were scared but safe. Nothing was amiss on our property. So we called the police and about 10 minutes later, we had a convergence of 3 police cars in our driveway! They discussed with my husband and the guys about where the noise had come from. It sounded to us like it had come from the SW of our property. They told us they had a known meth-lab about 2 miles NW of us. So they went off to check everything out.

Personally, I thought somebody might be playing with explosives. Scary.

What an adventure, huh?

My 4Shared account is having problems. I have emailed a rep several times now to find out what the problem seems to be, but thus far we are talking two different languages.

Seems they think I have more space available than what is actually showing. So the rep just keeps referring to the same thing, but not SHOWING me where they are getting their information from.

I have told the Rep in the email and even sent a screen shot to indicate that my account is not showing what they say I have.

So until I get that sorted out, does anybody have any other suggestions for upload/download data storage sites?

My daughter is paranoid that I have exposed her handwriting as being very horrible, but you have to remember that this was a note she wrote when in a hurry & she was probably 16 years old. I'm sure that her writing has matured as much as she has. Whatever the case may be, her mother's handwriting is still awful even after all these years. All that genetics stuff. It's an inherited thing, K~

The sun is shining here and darling hubby is taking me to get my nails done, then to the mall. Tomorrow I am going to go to the doctor about my foot. I sincerely hope they can do something about it as I really want to wear my summer sandals.

Hope your day is going great!

Oh. Almost Forgot! Freebies.
Would you like some PINS? I had this idea for some pins in different colors. But I noticed that somebody else had done them. So I had to do go all out!

HERE are the pins. In 36 different colors.
If that is not available, get them HERE. And you will need the password - safetypin.

If that 2nd download is not available, get them HERE. And you will need the password - safetypin

And there is a hint in the name. Pins PART 1.

Get it? So we can safely assume there will probably be a PART 2 tomorrow?

Yep.

And I used something in my LO today that will be featured tomorrow. So stick around. The freebies continue to roll out!

I love technology. Found the actual note that my daughter left me. (see previous posting) See Kelsey? I never throw anything away. Except for that signed copy of that original art print that is now worth $1,000,000. I threw that away. But nothing else. I don't throw anything away. Yeah. Right. That is why my husband calls me the "garbage queen".

On a more serious note, my heart goes out to the victims and families of the tragedy at Virginia Tech. As a parent of a daughter that attended college, I cannot even imagine the agony of losing my child in such a manner.

There might be more freebies tomorrow if my internet holds out. But don't hold your breathe, because the weather forecast predicts rain.

And everybody knows...ADVERSE WEATHER=NO INTERNET.

C.H.A.R.M.S.

So. Did you like the charm with the picture of my baby? Would you like to have your own charm? What about 13 charm shapes in 3 different styles...for a total of 36?

Not enough? Well. How about I throw in a bonus 3 charms? That enough?

C.H.A.R.M.S. is my freebie to you. Hope you enjoy.

You can pick them up
HERE.

And I do SO appreciate all your kind comments. I read every one of them and am very entertained by some of them. Thank you very much for your support and kindness.

In a recent scrapbooking forum, it was stated by a commentor "the realism that you bring to your designs is something that you need to start charging for"

And my response was "...it gives me more joy to design and give them away. I'm selfishly into it for my own satisfaction."

It really stretches my imagination and is so fun to work on some of these things. My pleasure comes in making others happy.

In Other News: Hubby got home tired, but happy last night at 3AM. By the time he got everybody sorted & everything temporarily unloaded, bedtime was at 4AM. I got to listen to the half-asleep ravings of his trip to the Portland Auto Swap. As my eyes started drooping in sleep, I felt extremely happy to sleep next to him in bed while listening to his horrendous snoring.

We may be blinded by our own perceived flaws, but those who love us have clearer vision.

Missing The Baby

In the last few days, I have been missing my baby SO much. Probably because my friend, Theresa, has been yammering on about how very naughty her children have been lately.
She doesn't know how lucky she is.

What I wouldn't give to have a bad little 5 year old in my home again.

Even if she did take a bath and let the water overflow out of the tub and into the basement.
Oh yeah. She did. But it was only that ONE time...

However, in the last 22 years my daughter managed to grow up and become a talented and beautiful young woman with no trace of naughty left around at all!
And I will let you know that when everybody brings out that old chestnut about "they grow up so quickly"...it's true!
I found an old note the other day (then promptly lost it again~); that my daughter wrote when she was about 15 or 16...I was working and she stopped downtown to leave this wonderful little note...which just said..."hi mommy, just in the neighborhood and decided to cheer you by leaving this note on your car" So when I came out of work, I discovered this white piece of paper under the windshield wiper. And I don't recall now if I even told her that I sat there crying while I read the note. (Like I'm crying now) Or if I told her later that the note really did make my day.

She's not the sweetest, best baby in the whole world...but she's probably in the top 5! I love you Kelsey Rae.

Lonely

Greg (my hubby), Curt, John (Curt's dad), Bruce, & Matt all took off for the Portland, Oregon Automotive Swap Meet on Saturday morning at 3AM!

Hubby had finished some work in the shop, then took off with all this male testosterone inside our Dodge Extra-Cab pick up! Can you imagine 5 adult sweaty men squished together?

Wish I had been going with them. I would have loved to be smashed in between them all!
I am alone and lonely this weekend.

So it's just me and the dog. And I had to resort to watching TV (barf me with a fork!) because I am not going to clean the house with my foot...and it rained, so I couldn't do anything outside. There was no internet service available again due to the adverse weather!

But I did find out from Matt Z that we will probably have DSL in about 2 months. I am so excited I can hardly breathe!

Of course...attached to Matt Z's hip was Ty, who dropped off his truck so Greg can install a lift, heavy duty axles, & rear end while the little butt is in Hawaii (again). Ty is such a nut. He's got a sarcastic sense of humor, is a total horn dog, but I enjoy being around him with his upbeat attitude. He loves to make fun of people, but not in a nasty way. He is about the only 25 year old that I know that can actually have a fun exchange of repartee!

But neither of them knew what BOBs were...I had to tell them. They both got such a fit of the giggles that I thought they would both have heart attacks!

(BOBs-Battery Operated Boyfriends)

I also talked to the kids (Matt & Kelsey) on Friday night. It is a joy to hear their voices.I love them just so darned much. Can't wait to see them around the end of this year.

Heard that The Police are touring again. They were great and Sting is just devine. But shouldn't there be an age limit on declining artists being suspended from music? On Public Television we watched a special on Loggins & Messina. Now...when I was young, I had such an immense CRUSH on these two. I think I wore out 2 LPs singing and listening to their songs. But I was in shock the other night when I saw them in concert. They are old, wrinkly, and fat! Their voices have changed and when they tried to sing their old songs, it just sounded wrenchingly horrible. I suppose we all get older with that demon of time...but it was distressing to see aging rockers attempt to catch their "groove-thang".

I much prefer to remember them as they were.

Have you heard the latest Justin Timberlake song...What Goes Around...Comes Back Around? I am obsessed with that song. Think I will actually break down and go purchase the CD.

I read that Don Ho died. No more Tiny Bubbles. Let's have a moment of silence.

Worked on some more freebies. Here is what I have for you today!

FRAMES+ is a series of 14 frames, in silver and gold; grungy, different, messy
Drop shadows are for demo only.
NO DROP SHADOWS.
These are also in Gold!
I was just too lazy to put them in the preview.

Have a GREAT weekend!

I AM NOT A GUY

Just because my blog is named "Bob's Big Blue Blog"...Does everyone assume I am a guy?

My nickname is "BOB". I am a girl. I have boobs! See the picture at the top right? Does that look like a woman? I am a female.

I was totally shocked when I read in my comments..."Neat seed bead element. Thanks! Cool to see a guy doing this kind of digital art."

I AM NOT A GUY. I have NOT had a sex-change operation.

Uck. I think I have to go take an aspirin and rest for a while to recover from this.

Please people. DON'T make me post a pic of my personal parts to prove this is a fact. You WILL regret it!

With a quick window of Internet working; I posted my SEED BEADS.

I have lots of Freebies to give away as long as my satellite internet keeps working...

Yesterday was warm and the sun was shining all day. It was very pleasant.

Today the skies are overcast and it is slightly chilly.

All the honey-do things must get done today...putting out the fire-pit chairs; cleaning the deck; washing the window screens!

We are visiting friends tonight and will eat dinner with them. Fun. *Joe & Cindy, Roger & Stacy, Joe Jr. & Rache, Matt, Megan.

Have a wonderful Easter.

Dog Wash

We washed the dog at the dog/car wash-she glistens and shines! It is amazing how the depth in her colors comes out when she is clean. But the poor dog shakes as if we are going to beat her. As soon as we pull into the car wash, she shivers-anticipating that horrible water of the wash! But afterwards she romps and plays just knowing she is clean all over!

I got my oh-so dry fingernails taken care of at the nail spa. (the winter has taken a toll on my skin-it is so dry, it crinkles!) My nails now look spiffy & neat.

So far it is 59 degrees F. The sun is shining and my tulips are popping up all over.

Internet is still a little iffy. Went to "Coffeeville" for lattes & free DSL-I have NEVER seen it move so fast! I downloaded a couple things at over 350 kbs per second~I am lucky to download at home at 50 kbs.

Yesterday I talked to my daughter, Kelsey; her husband Matt had a cold so didn't get to talk to him. They sound happy. Kelsey starts her on-line college classes on Monday!

New Blog

Welcome to my NEW Blog.

I am updating, so bear with me!

Going To The Doctor

Well, I am going to the doctor again today to find out if there is anything that can be done for my foot. I can't live with the pain anymore. And as I am unable to work on the elliptical, it has put a great curve in my quest for the perfect bikini body!

Hubby ran into physical therapy this morning and will take me to the dr.this afternoon; he was unable to return to work on Monday as they decided they needed a "doctor's release" at the last minute. This is even after they have the statement of the date he was to return to work. They need everything in triplicate, it seems.

It is still cold & cloudy here. The weathermen have predicted 70 degree F on Friday.
I can't wait.
Working on something special. Should be done by tomorrow. Cross your fingers & hope that the internet service holds up until then!
X-Thanks for all your kind comments.
I have noticed that all my LOs in the past week have been brown. I must be in my "brown period".

Sunday Ho-Hum

ALL MY FREEBIE LINKS ARE AT THE RIGHT IN THE SIDEBAR!

I have removed the other links as everytime I posted them within the blog, there was "gobbledy-gook" posted afterwards within the link. Blogger is definitely messing them up.
Until I get a better connection to investigate further, I have removed the links and you can get the freebies from the links posted within the sidebar.

Outside temp is cool. There is a slight breeze. It has been somewhat boring as I am having internet connection problems. I just have to remind myself that I will only have to put up with this for a short time and I will have DSL soon.

Hubby got a bug up his butt and decided to cut his own hair. Kinda cute on the sides, but he gave himself a bowl cut on the top; he also trimmed his beard. (will post pic later!) I cleaned out his ear hair. What IS the problem with men as they age and the length of the hair in their ears?

My daughter said that she never reads my blog anymore as I only post boring old "digi-scrap" stuff. So...ummmm. What is exciting in my life?

1/Got up this morning & made the bed.
2/Drove to A-town to get our morning fix of lattes!
3/Came home.
4/Talked to my daughter on the phone! *she called long-distance from the UK
5/Husband cut his own hair.
6/Did a couple loads of laundry.
7/Washed dishes & put them away.
8/Had a slice of toast.
9/Played with the dog.
10/Elevated my foot & put an ice pack on it while reading in bed.
11/Watched hubby take a nap.
12/Made blueberry muffins.
13/Cleaned up my SuperBladePro presets.
14/Struggled to log onto the internet.
15/Washed & conditioned my hair.
16/Shaved my underarms & legs.
17/Updated my blog.
18/Broke a fingernail.

Nope. Pretty much the same old boring life as usual. Sorry, Kelsey!

I'm working on more unusual and odd digi-scrapping freebies. If anybody has any suggestions about what they might like to see, let me know!
