ANOTHER TRUCK TO VEGAS; CRAFT FAIR; AND SYMPHONY

SATURDAY
11-17-2018

Got up at 7AM. Hubby made eggs for dogs, and a burrito for himself.

I made lattes.

We left dogs at home. Drove Expedition to pick up truck & gooseneck trailer at The Pioneer Center.

Hubby drove truck back. I parked car in garage and went to join him. I picked up some stuff we had forgotten and we went to Flying J to get fuel. Then left Mesquite by 8:30AM. We were in Vegas by 9:45 and dropped the truck off at the Storage Center on Jones Avenue. Met Ray and Michelle again. Ray said that he would be hauling vehicles to Pahrumph and needed to have a hauler for them.

We drove back to Mesquite and were dropping off trailer by 11:30AM. Dave (landlord) was there and wanted hubby to move trailer "so he could have access to both sides". Weird. Wasted time doing that.

Finally got to the craft sale at the church by Noon. Not much there. Bought an odd little snowman quilt hanging and some baked goods.

Drove home.

Let dogs out to potty. Hubby made leftover sandwiches from last night's BBQ.

We sat on the patio for a while until it got too cold at 3PM.

People that were coming to look at the file cabinets texted at 3PM and said they would be here by 4PM.

Hubby was on the phone with Casey when people texted for the file cabinets.

They got here at 5PM, but only bought 1 file cabinet; had 4 people in a tiny Jeep Liberty and strapped it to the back of the car.

We went to the Symphony at 6:30PM, Had to search for the Stage which was at the back of the Casino, so we had to walk thru all the smoke.

Some older huge people were standing in the way and we could not get thru to get our tickets at the box office. When we got inside, one of our seats were missing and we had to get the ushers to bring out an extra seat.

The event was billed as a "Salute to Veterans" which I assumed would mean a lot of military, or marching band songs. At the very beginning of the presentation, they had an honor guard come out and present the flag while they were playing the US National Athem, but they then played an extremely long 18 minute overture and then some songs from "My Fair Lady". It was definitely not a Professional Symphony as the horns "honked" and the whole orchestra seemed off key and playing on top of each other. We left at the first intermission rather than listen to such horrible music. Our band in 6th grade played better than this symphony did; we had an extremely hard-taskmaster as a band music major instructor. She was formidable and whipped our young selves into a first rate band in less than 1 year.

We drove back home. Had dinner and watched "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" on Netflix. Odd movie. Everybody dies in the end.

Went to bed at 11;36PM after we both took showers.
