Patriotic Pride

I worked busily on 4th of July stuff. Made red, white, & blue cupcakes; vacuumed the house; Greg ran over to Davenport, Washington with guy friends to look at a car. Even tho his friend decided not to purchase the car, it was still fun for him to run around...

We are going with friends to see Live Free or Die Hard; and I will probably have lots to talk about tomorrow.

If you want to pick up my Patriotic Pride, get it HERE

Big Wind, Downed Trees & No Electricity

Another storm raged through the area and we were left without electricity. But after rain, hail, and high winds...the sun sprang out continuing a beautiful summer day.

However, it was another 4 hours before crews were able to restore power to the area.

Earlier in the day, Greg had called me to tell me that he had heard about some problems over in the UK while listening to the radio. He was very concerned about the kids. So I had called our daughter & son to warn them about the terrorist problems. I yakked on the phone to them for over an hour. They are such chatty-cathys.

Get the camera & film HERE.

Tomorrow is a big day. Lots of stuff to clean up in the basement for charitable donation and I want to clean up the wind debris outside.

Isabelle was with Greg as he went into the doctor's for his back appointment when the storm hit. He said that she cowered in the back seat of the truck. Poor little baby. The last time we had a storm here, she jumped out of bed, and came to sleep on my side of the bed. I reached out and petted her until the storm passed.

Matt & Kelsey's pictures from their holiday to Tenerife. I am SO jealous of them for getting to visit all these places.

I am working busily on the 4th of July stuff.

Back in Black!

Yesterday, the hubby stayed home again as his back was still really bad. So I was on had to wait on him-hand & foot; which I really don't mind...but I didn't really get anything else done. The day was extremely humid. We cranked up the air conditioning and still it was stifling.

I'm hoping we can go to a movie tonite, but I'm not counting on it. Maybe tomorrow.

Sophia Sarducci came out with her July Beads. They are...Red, White, & Blue! Are you just like me and have to collect these, no matter what?

I used to collect everything at Atomic Cupcake until I cured myself of the habit. There are just so many beautiful things and I had to spread myself out a little bit more...

This Many Faces caught my eye at DST...what an amazing amount of journaling!

To torture my husband about a month ago, I put the ringtone on his phone of Justin
Timberlake's "Sexy Back"; after 1 day of answering his personal phone at this song...he was
ready to strangle me! Graciously, I removed it and put back on his AC/DC.

But I went and bought the Justin Timberlake CD and now am threatening to make him listen to this as retribution against anything he might try...(aren't I naughty?)

We went to Kiddie Kandids the other day....here is one of the pics.

Last time we went, I was very impressed with the professionalism I found there. But it was like a totally different atmosphere this time. We were hurried and the photographer was not very good. We were happy with this one pose and purchased a few to send to relatives.

As you have all been so patient on waiting for me to get around to offering my next freebie, I want to say thank you for hanging around.

Here are Transparency Slides. Get them HERE. (slide pic courtesy of www.doverpublishing.com)

Blog Now or Die Hard?

Yep. I will be taking Greg to the new Die Hard movie staring Bruce Willis. And this was a modification of the subject line that my daughter sent me this morning. Blog or Die!

Sorry I have been MIA the last few days. Of course, you KNOW that the computer (bleep) was out the other day and my compy has been out of commission ever since. The computer (bleep) was to have fixed the CD burner only; but decided to erase everything; reload Windows; and run it that way. I have been working diligently to restore it to what it was. Needless to say...I lost a ton of stuff. I am not a happy camper with the computer (bleep).

We went to the drag races on Friday night with the whole gang-Joe & Cindy, Megan, Matt, Kurt & Duane, Joanie & Chachi; We stopped at Dick Burgers before we went to the races and it was fun feeding the seagulls. At Spoky-Jo Drag Strip Greg raced our Dodge truck against Joe's Magnum. Can you just imagine it? Two old duffers out on the racetrack with their "daily drivers" while all the kids in tuner-cars and motorcycles are there to race. How embarrassing.

Cindy got a call from work and she had to leave mid-way thru so she took Megan with her; Joanie & I had to leave the truck everytime the guys raced. We were there from 8PM thru 1PM; It got SO cold that night. About 62F. Ugh. I should have brought my winter coat. The motorcycles went extremely fast. There was one that even exceeded 235mph! On their last race, Joe red-lited and Greg had a PERFECT reaction time off the starting line! The announcer had to say this TWICE. Too bad hubby didn't hear this. He was bursting with pride and kept looking at his race stats all night long and most of the next day!

Saturday Greg worked in the shop while I cleaned house; then on Sunday Greg watched a "Dirty Jobs" marathon and we worked in the yard for a while; we made a quick trip to the store to find a new exercise bike for me because I broke mine; stopped at Sonic on the way for a malt! (Diet, of course!)

On Monday I woke up to find that Aunt Flo had come to visit. So I stayed in bed most of the day feeling like crap. And the rest of the time I have spent on the computer in a vain attempt to restore it to full service!

When I visited Kelsey's blog yesterday, I found the cutest caricature of them that an artist had rendered while they were on holiday in Tenerife...the kid was upset that it was not in color; so I color-ized it for them. Aren't they just wonderful!

Greg stayed home today from work as he is in so much pain he can barely walk; his back again. He attempts too much, then doesn't rest it;

When we were driving through downtown Spoky-Jo the other day, we had come to a stop light and right beside us was a car all decorated because they had just gotten married. We flipped them $20 and they were all smiles as they took off afterwards, thanking us. It's so exciting to see young kids just starting out (which makes ME sound like an old duffer, but I have always been excited seeing people get married). I can only hope that their lives together will be as rich with color & as exciting as ours.

So until tomorrow when I am ready to post another Freebie for you, hope you are all OK.

Not Guilty by a Jury of My Peers

Really. Nobody would have convicted me. Even with a jury of 12 of my peers, I'm totally confident that they would have found me NOT Guilty for having plunged those scissors that were quivering in my hot little hands into the cold insensitive heart of Ty-the computer nincompoop.

I had recently given him immense kudos for being our computer expert; however, I have had it Up To Here (making a cutting motion with my fingers at the tippy-top of my head-) with his stupid inane remarks; the frustration of having a computer that fails to do even the most simplistic of tasks; and his incompetent office staff-everytime I go in there, they have NO clue of what I am talking about...

He had refused to come down to the house when I asked as he was already working in the shop with Greg. So when Greg came home at 830p and there was no sign of Ty, I was a little irritated to say the least (slamming, frustrated, irritable) This kid does this repeatedly. What is he in business for if he doesn’t want to service the computer he sold us? It hasn’t worked correctly since the day we got it.

Greg always manages to get the short end of the stick when he works out a “trade”; he works on somebody’s vehicle in exchange for something. And either never gets the something or gets the big “bend over baby!”

Other than that, it was a pretty good day. Wonderfully warm; I went to a new hairdresser at 215p today for a consultation. Jill sounds like a great stylist. I look forward to working with her. And I worked on some new freebies; which I will not be able to offer as I HAVE NO COMPUTER.

Kelsey (finally) used my frames. So head over to her blog to read about her exciting trip to Tenerife. http://hisredhead.wordpress.com/

See Shawna? I’m really not a nice person after all. My bad.

MIB - Missing in Blog

Various Thoughts That Popped Into My Head...

I was at http://www.beckersurf.com/ going through the cute little dresses on the site. There was this notice on some of the dresses featured:

“to help you select the proper size, we’ve supplied this information about the
model shown here: height-5’9" / weight-115lbs. / shirt size-small / pant-short
size 3 / swim small / rashguard-size 8 or small”

That means that for every inch in height, the model weighs 1.67 pounds. Think about it.

Plus…the image of the item is clear, but they have cut off the models head shots. Curious. Are the faces on the models horribly ugly so they don’t want to show them? Is it done to attract attention only to the clothes? If that is true, why not just use a dressmaker’s dummy, a mannequin, or a hanger?

While I was there, I purchased 3 cute little dresses. Plus…I want this one badly. It’s very pretty; but I think I like it more for the name…Paris in June! PS. They don't have it in my size-so I won't be able to get it.

You can really get a load of inspiration at beckersurf.com when you select the Gals page.
http://beckersurf.com/browse/productgroup.aspx?pgid=4 ; the colors, the overlays, the grunge!

When I am designing, I get carried off in tangents. I have several things already designed that I could probably release. Then I see something that makes me think… “I could do better than that”…or “that would be kinda neat if I did it this way”…so I go looking around on the ‘net to find neat stuff and I get distracted. Lots distracted. Oh well, I’m having fun!

I think at the end of July, I will get my belly-button re-pierced. It has already been done twice and both times, the piercing worked its way out. Maybe I just have weird skin and it won’t work. But I do want to try again. Both times, the piercing was not very deep. Maybe I should do it myself! LOL!

Kelsey-There is a Hollister store that is going in directly across from Victoria’s Secret at the Valley Mall! (when we came out of VS, there was a enormous construction board about 20 feet tall…with a young man sans shirt. Ummm. I almost fainted. Gosh…they should put warnings on those things…

So much to do so little time… have to get arranged to go to Son 'O Beach…August 24-26. Tons of early Broncos on the Oregon beach. Fun.

Then have to get tickets for the December Seattle to UK Trip to see the kids.

Whenever I see two commercials on television, I yearn to try out the restaurants. They are driving me nuts. The restaurants are not in our area. Not even in an area that we could even go to on a trip. So why are they taunting me with their delicious pictures of beer, crabs, steak? Urg.

Note-Isabelle actually started playing on her own tonight. She dug through her toy box to find her bushing at the bottom of it. She enjoyed tossing it around, teasing us with it, and making us chase her. It lasted for all of 10 minutes. Then she was done playing. She has a very short attention play span.

Happy Father's Day!

***LINK HAS BEEN CORRECTED***

Did you have a great Father's Day? I did. It was nice to relax at home with the hubby. The kid called and chatted for quite a while. I didn't get to say hi to Matt, tho. "Hi Matt! - Love you, Honey!" Daddy got a card, a 4-WD DVD, and a keychain. He was thoroughly thrilled.

The kids had a great time in Tenerife. Wonderful pics. They look well rested. Just what a holiday will do for you!

I only wish that hubby and myself could have been with them. Picked up some cute little Soda sandals at the store this weekend. My tops from Victoria's Secret also came. My sweater has been back ordered, so I sent for 3 others instead!

Reviewing http://www.kaboodle.com/ only made me want to buy more cute stuff...and I already had my fill at the mall this weekend.
This dress at http://www.mandee.com/ is calling out for me to buy it! Maybe tomorrow.

Since the temps have been hovering around 50 degrees here (brrrrr), I can't even THINK of summer stuff yet. We had the stove on all day & night. Rain, Rain, Go Away!

They have been running a great commercial advertising Joe's Crab Shack. http://www.joescrabshack.com/ And if I see it one more time, I will have to jump in the car and go get crabs! Yum. They look delicious. My mouth is already watering!

We watched The Legend of Bagger Vance *starring Matt Damon, Will Smith & Charlize Theron, tonight b4 going to bed. I had never seen it, so it was pretty good. The ending was a bit ambiguous, but the acting was good. The storyline was fair.

So. I have always loved quilting. One of my favorites has to be Drunkard's Path. And I got to thinking....But not drinking-that a font would look great if it could appear through the eyes of a drunk on the Drunkard's Path.

Pick up the font HERE
Thank you for ALL your comments. I really appreciate them. Your support means a lot. I enjoy working on my designs and it gives me such great joy to give them away.
Post Script-I am using FontCreator by HighLogic. http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html

I sincerely apologize for the incorrect link on the font. I am sorry. It has been corrected. Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

Slightly-Wobbly

We heard another explosion last night at 1AM. So we contacted the police and they came out by 130AM. I had poked my head out the sliding glass door directly after the explosion and heart voices distinctly in the distance saying "Wasn't that great?" So I had a point of reference so that the cops could go question others about the noise we heard. Again...this explosion was loud enough to shake the house. It's very scary.

Greg & Joe took off early this morning to pick up parts from the powder-coaters. Greg was back by 12:30 and we took off. On the way, my eagle eyed hubby spotted a boat for sale and just had to pull over to gaze at it! When we pulled off the road, we saw...VARMINTS! They ran like little ferrets across the road. The hill next to the road was covered with the little things.

Entertained by the curious little rodents, we watched for quite a while until we realized that we needed to continue if we were to be at the wedding on time! While we talked about the animals we saw, we remembered that Kelsey had a guinea pig when we first moved into the basement. And it had run away. (i.e.-escaped) It is probably still somewhere in the walls of the house! We had both totally forgotten about it. Wonder if Kelsey Rae remembers?

Got to the wedding just as it was beginning. Woot! Patricia was beautiful in her gown. Her groom was so handsome & proud. Ron looked adorable with the father of the groom as they proudly held their "rifles" waiting for the young gents to come out. All of the groomsmen carried rifles as they escorted the bridesmaids out. During the service, when asked for the ring...all of the groomsmen acted as if they had forgotten the ring!

We had a quick few minutes with the reception line and then we were off to the birthday party. Arriving at the park just in time to see Lilly thoroughly enjoying her cake. What a doll. She had dozens of presents! A beautiful, lucky little girl.

Lilly is an adorable little girl. She was loaded with cake, but after a quick clean up, she was up and around. Several times, she attempted to lift herself up so she could walk. Seeing her struggle, I went over to hold her hand during one of these attempts. She looked up at me and broke into a wonderfully big smile. We walked for a while until she plopped down into the soft green grass. I remember that baby soft skin...from so long ago!

After enjoying some birthday cake, talking to various friends & relatives, then taking a quick walk around the park with Isabelle we returned home via the mall. Oh, beware. We went to the mall!

Got pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids for our daughter as she was begging for some recent fotos! Then picked up free panties for her at Victoria's Secret. We finally returned home at 6:30PM. What a great day! The sun was shining even with the threat of dark clouds lining the skies.

So early this morning before we went off on our great adventure, I tried my hand at developing a font. I call it Slightly-Wobbly. It is distressed and messy.

Get it HERE.

Calendar in the Round

The temperatures hovered around 74 today. Not very warm.

Had a hectic day with cleaning up the house, going to town for errands, and getting my nails done. We took the dog for a nice walk. Bought her a BIG purple ball.

While I stayed home to unpack groceries, Greg snagged Joe and they went to the Car-d-Lane.

Little bunny foo-foo has been seen crossing the road. Hope he doesn't get hurt. Greg saw the deer run through the woods while he was out peeing off the deck this morning.

Tomorrow we are going to a friend's party in the park for their baby. It's her 1 year old birthday party. Then afterwards we are going to an old-fashioned "shotgun" wedding. LOL! The dad says he is going to stand next to his son-in-law to be with an actual shotgun. The wedding invitations were designed in the vintage "old-western" type wanted ad! Sounds like it will be fun.

I'm just too tired to blog any further...so I will show you my Dated 3.

Hope you like it. Get it HERE.

Date Me!

Hey! I forgot to share the photos from our walk the other day on the mountain. Isn't this just a most beautiful view of the mountains? Breathtaking.

Please note that I changed my SLIDE feed of LOs so you can see my daughter as she was growing! My beautiful little red head.

Greg talked to his dad who did the Snowbird thing and moved from Arizona to Missouri. When hubby last talked to his dad before they left, his dad FAILED to mention that...Oh. Yeah. He broke 2 ribs when he fell down just prior to their trip.

Can you believe that? And then they drove all the way. OMG. The man is insane. I really love my father-in-law, but he is certifiably nutz! I sure hope he takes care of himself because I really would like to see him around for a while.

Hubby totally forgot and decided to eat lunch and breakfast before he came home to go to his appt. But, he was not supposed to eat prior to his shot. So he was unable to go and will have to re-schedule. However, this doctor (lah-ti-dah) is so important and over-booked that the scheduling will call us back (holding my breath here!) to give him a new appointment...IF they have a cancellation. I seriously dislike doctors that expect to be paid even tho their treatment doesn't work. Especially the ones with the snarky staff!

Kelsey! Can you believe that there is a new restaurant open in Spirit Lake? It's a Mexican Family Restaurant. I can't give you the name, because we honestly could not read the name on the menu or on the front window. But it is pretty good. I had a Corona and Greg had that beer that the mountains turn blue when it gets cold enough. Gee. We are turning into alcoholics. Beer this week, too! We had food too. Wonderfully delicious Tamales, Chips, Salsa, Guacamole, Re-fried Beans, and Rice. Yum. I will save the flan for next time.

When the dog and I were returning from our walk to get the mail, I got a huge papercut on my left hand where the index finger meets my palm. It is very deep. So duly take note - if I die from this papercut, I want all of you to join in a class action lawsuit to sue my local bank for loss of affection as they mailed my statement in a lethal envelope!

Here is Dated2. From 2000-2010.

Get it now. HERE

Quick!

Just a quick post. Taking hubby in to the Dr. for a shot today. Will post later tonight.

A Jungle No Longer

A veritable jungle was rising directly behind our garage and out from the deck. So we called "FireSmart". They were recommended by our great friend-Joe. The service is funded by Department of Lands to clear an area around your home within 500 feet so that you have a fire - break.

The service is totally free to the homeowner. Great news.

This will make the area more open; we will be able to view our woodland friends better; and we are better able to defend in case of wildfire.

Once the guys are done, I want to get a chipper/shredder to eliminate what is left. We have several piles of these on our property to burn, but with the rains soaking everything and then an abrupt dry season... there is no time to burn safely. So I think I could manage to use a chipper/shredder by myself without unduly injuring anybody or anything. ( oh- by the way. Greg's buddy Robert cut 2 fingers off in a tablesaw accident the other day. so distressful & horrible. )

So it is a beautiful day outside and I will be finishing up this post; then spending the day outside working in the yard. With the fresh smell of pine trees on the warm air, the sound of chainsaws ripping in the background and the sun on my face will make for a great day!

I cleared off an area 1000 feet in front of our home, but it took me 3 of the first years we lived here. Without using a chainsaw, it did tend to take a little longer. But I was not going to endanger my life or limbs using one of those. So I took my step-ladder and a handsaw. Working away diligently, I managed to clear the lower limbs up to a height of 6 feet. It has a wonderful park-like setting. Over the years, I have received many comments & compliments about it.

The hubby had actually wanted to clear this area out himself this year, but he has so many OTHER honey-dos on his list that I thought it would take him 4-ever to do this. Thankfully, our friend Joe was talking about his property and what "FireSmart" had done for him.

Marty called from FireSmart the other day after I filled out a short application & mailed it in. I was plesantly surprised that we received a call so soon. Marty & Larry came out to assess the property Monday; and a two-man crew has been here since 7:30 as was promised yesterday! They are already 1/2 way done with it and it's only almost noon! Fast & efficient. I am truly amazed at this and will definitely be tendering a recommendation to their supervisor.

When I went out to offer muffins to the guys, I took Isabelle to familiarize her around them. She had been barking her little head off in distress over the strangers that had invaded her property. What a nut! As I petted her head and gently calmed her, she seemed to accept that the men were not there to upset her. She is curled up on her bed upstairs-fast asleep!

In other news to update - the kids left for Tenerife and will return to the UK on the 16th. Can you just imagine? Five wonderful days on an island with black sands. They will be visiting the monkeys which are reputed to be not far from their villa. Hope they have fun & bring back LOTS of pics.

The frame I used above for the tree-scene is one of the vintage frames that I am currently working upon. Probably will be releasing them soon.

In the meantime, you can have DATED.

I remember the days of Slide Rulers and wanted to make a date freebie based on that.

There are several colors of slides you can use to indicate the date. I have also provided silver & gold edges. There is a date form you can color to your own preference...or use the plain white form. If you want, there is also just a plain date .png file without the form behind it.

Get DATED HERE.
Play around with it. Have fun.

Old Age Strikes Again

Oh. I forgot to post last night. Here are some pretty borders. Hope you like them.

Currently working on more vintage frames. Today was rainy and dreary. Plans to go 4-wheeling were squelched.

And tomorrow will probably be sunny & warm. Why are weekends always like this?

We stopped to have a drink at a bar the other day. Well, it wasn't exactly a bar. But we did have beer. And the TV was tuned to ESPN! It counts.

If you would like to pick up the pretty borders, go HERE.

Hmmm. Nothing more to talk about. Hope you have a great weekend.

Mom! Mom! Mom!

OK. What 26 year old idiot who is richer than snot calls out for her mommy when she is being sent back to jail?

You know already what I'm going to say...so let's consider this rant already done and get on to other things. I don't want to waste anymore valuable time on this p.o.s.

And...what is that crap with Kurt Busch? NASCAR needs to bench him permanently for the balance of the season and require that he takes Anger Management classes. This is a classic demonstration of - duh - - Road Rage! He literally got a slap on the wrist. "Ohhh. Bad boy. Don't do it again." (insert my sarcastic tone of voice here) Are all of the NASCAR officials insane?

But. On to better things. I had a horrendously bad dream last night. I dreamt that my son-in-law died. Ugh. How awful. This just came out of left field. I have no idea why I was thinking about this. It was not in my conscious thoughts. He is in no danger, yet I had this awful nightmare. So, I had to call the kids up today to make myself feel better. And while I was on the phone to my baby-Kelsey...I read that there is glut of back logged passport applications.
As we are visiting the kids in December, we need to apply for those passports ASAP. Hope the Immigration Dept. can get them to us in 5 1/2 months! We will visit M&K in the UK and do the tourist-thing in Italy, France, and Germany. Maybe Ireland, too. Depends upon time.

Thus, the hubby and I rushed off to have our mugshots...I mean...PASSport photos taken. We will process the applications on Monday. And I just had to share the mugshots with you. As soon as I saw them, I knew what I wanted to do with them. Aren't they just so cute? I can just imagine them in the Sunday supplement of the newspaper. Just wait until we get our 15 minutes of fame!
Why, oh why...didn't we get our passports when we were in our 20s? We would have looked young and pretty then. I could have had my Mexico & Canada stamps on the passport. The passports then would only would have cost $50 instead of $150! Oh, well. Hindsight is 20/20!
I promised yesterday that I would be sharing the Alpha-Tile with you. Get it HERE.
We visited the Chiropractor and I had him take a look at my poor little pinky finger on my left hand. He said that finger is directly linked to the lowest neck vertebrae. So he worked on that. It isn't feeling that much better, so I will go in again. Kevin is the best chiropractor ever. He can help with anything.
Hubby goes in for his final spine shot on June 14. Hope it is the final one. They usually don't give them anymore than 3. But this will be his 4th! They are trying to re-generate his nerves by stimulating his C-4, C-5, & C-6 by injecting steroids directly into them. Ouch. A big needle is inserted directly into his spine. G-ross. They won't even allow me to be with him while he gets these, so I have to sit (un)patiently in the waiting room & freak out while he is alone back there. Ugh. Maybe I should dose myself with alcohol to make the wait less stressful. That Stoli Blueberry looks mighty good!
While we were in town, we also stopped at Costco and picked up toilet paper, paper towels, & dishwashing detergent (necessities-LOL!). Got 99 cent cheeseburgers for Isabelle at Wendy's after getting our passport photos.
But I still forgot to stop at NW Beauty (see? it's dangerous to go without a list!) to pick up my spray-in conditioner for my hair. Back to Basics Sunflower Leave In Conditioner. Smells great!
My dumb questions for today...
  1. Why do bra manufacturers always discontinue the bra I love.
  2. Why do I never buy enough in advance, knowing that they will discontinue the bra I love.
  3. Why does your favorite shirt/pair of jeans always wear out and you have to trash them?
  4. How many is TOO many lipsticks?

TAG! You're It.

Interesting places I found today… http://www.wordspy.com/

My favorite!

A larger, beachfront barefoot-luxury property near Soufriere is Anse Chastenet,
with 48 rooms spilling down a mountain, some with views of the Pitons.—Joan
Iaconetti, "St. Lucia Experiences 10 Percent Tourism Growth," Tour & Travel

Yep. When I retire, I want to live in barefoot-luxury!

And http://www.shopbop.com/ Their tagline is: shop by category, brand, or trend. Lots of interesting clothes here. Trendy, Brandy!

Then, while looking for a bathing suit, I came upon this at http://www.wildchildclothing.com/ LOL! There was a button to press for “DETAILS” but…there isn’t a lot of detail in this bikini top. It wouldn’t even cover my nipples!

Mini Micro Bikini Top:

Sexy micro chip bikini bra top from Roma Bikini. All sexy triangle
bikini bra tops are available in Black, White, Red, Baby Pink, Baby Blue, Royal Blue, Hot Pink, Lime, Nude, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Brown and Turquoise.

If you visit this site, make sure you observe the columns at the left for choices on Adult Sexy Costumes. Along with the proverbial French Maid Costumes; Cheerleaders; Sexy Nurse… The one that got a laugh out of me was “Bad Girls, Prisoners” and then “NASCAR Racing Costumes” and “Mafia Costumes/Gangsters”. I had to visit the NASCAR costumes to check them out as I had ASSUMED that it was the male drivers that wore the costumes. But these were obviously intended for female pit-crew, right!?

Can you just imagine all those guys, sitting on the edge of the couch-watching NASCAR races. And in their heads are big-breasted females, running around in these scanty, lycra-costumes. Filling the fuel tank, changing the tires, slamming some Gator-ade in their mouth! Yeah. Right. Sure...(insert heavy sarcasm here)

And a thought to leave you with b4 I end my blogging for today…I found this on a Father’s Day poem site.

I had to giggle when I read what the “necessities of life” were for this child…

"My Dad always provided me with the necessities in life: food, clothing,shelter... hair products, manicures, pedicures, body lotions, designer handbags, designer jeans, lipstick, eyeliner, blush, DvDs, MP3 players, and so much more.He went without so that I could have more. He gave me so much including the most important thing in the world: all of his love. I love you Daddy."

I used an ear-cone on my right ear last night and it feels so much better. Please! Do not lecture me about ear cones. Kelsey’s friend had a grandmother that started us on these when Kelsey was in 3rd grade. With problems in my right ear for years, this is the only thing that works to provide relief. I can certainly SEE the wax that came out of my ears. I can certainly HEAR better after I use one.

A doctor used water and soap to clean my ear out when I was a child and I think that the problems I have stem from that incident. It was so painful, I will never go again. When I recently inquired, the nurses at my doctor’s office said they use a new detergent that breaks down the earwax and then they taken an instrument to dig out the wax. HOW BARBARIC!

Didn't the doctor always tell YOU not to put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow?

SO! Tag. You are it. I have been seeing so many of the "tags" around on the web, I decided to do some of my own for Father's Day. And I added in a few more that were just miscellaneous. Hope you like them. Use them in good health. Get Tagged HERE.

Buh-Bye! Have a great Thursday night or Friday morning (depending upon where you live) and I am off to do 2 1/2 hours of exercise!

Horrors!

Ack! I was going to post about our wonderful weekend on Sunday night. However, it has been raining so we lost our internet connection; and yesterday I came down with a 24 hour bug. I could barely haul myself out of bed. But I am feeling 100% better.

On Sunday we spent a wonderful day on the mountain- rode the gondola, walked for 3 miles on a great trail while there were threatening storm clouds overhead, and just relaxed.

We toured the vintage Railroad Museum (which was featured in that ever-forgetful movie Heaven’s Gate) and then stopped to get ice cream. Isabelle had a whole dish of vanilla ice cream by herself. Greg had a cherry dipped cone (his favorite!) and I had a butterscotch malt. Yum.

The temperature on the mountain ranged about 68 degrees F. But it was over 90 degrees in town. Ugh.

So we ate our ice creams in the park and Isabelle drank about a gallon of water afterwards.

Why does ice cream make you thirsty?

Most of the day we were Boris & Natasha, those cartoon characters from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show… “Dah-link, Vhat do you theenk of theese?” We kept calling Isabelle “Underdog” and asking her if she could fly! People were constantly giving us these funny looks…What nuts... What fun…

Why do people want to pet strange dogs? Isabelle looks beautiful and everybody wants to put their hands on her. She does not like it at all. She has been known to shy away, growl and even snap. But she won’t hurt anybody. She sees them as threats. So we have to explain to people. “Don’t touch!” Think about it. Would YOU want a total stranger coming up to you and petting you? Ugh. No.

  1. One thing I have learned – Don’t eat french toast with butter & syrup while typing on the computer.
My husband likes to do things. Things that sometimes irritate me. For instance, he was asking me the other day if I had any exposure to “TB Man” as I was so sick. He kept repeating this all day. Then he expands on the joke- do I want him to call the CDC? Do I need to go to the emergency room? Will they have to cut something off? Since I was sick, it got to be a little irritating, but the hubby was having great fun at my expense. It’s not mean, he just does it to make me laugh. So then I fly off the handle… “Stop that!,” I yell.

Then he gives me those big blue eyes. Like a little boy. And that look. Agggh! I feel like I just squashed a puppy beneath my foot!

And then the WINK! He knows he is irritating me, so he laughs and gives me the WINK! The wink should be off limits; only to be used as a last resort. It is so unfair that men can use this. And I have only found a few men that can use it successfully. And my husband is one of them. Or maybe it only affects me in that certain way. There is no better tool than the wink to melt me in 0-2 seconds flat!

I made a quick page in honor of Greg's dad for Father's day.

Liar! Liar! Liar!

You know...when people lie, there are certain things that are obvious. When I was reading the "real story" of the man that had TB (news agencies dubbed him TB Man) it was glaringly obvious. This man is a liar.

The lies are obvious. The lies are blatant.

And he needs to spend some time in jail for criminal negligence if he recovers from this disease.

This was NOT a simple case of the flu. "Oh. I have the flu. I don't feel bad, even tho I am contagious...I think I'll fly out of the country, even tho I have been strongly urged not to...because I'm getting married."

FACTS-TB is spread by aerosol droplets expelled by people with the active disease of the lungs when they cough, sneeze, speak, kiss, or spit. These infectious droplets are 0.5 to 5 µm in diameter and about 40,000 can be produced by a single sneeze.

In other words, you don't have to be actively spitting up blood or coughing to be a danger to others.

This man is not a doctor, yet he ignored all doctors & officials advice and warnings to travel.

My thoughts:
1. Tuberculosis is a SERIOUS disease.
2. He was informed that he had a highly resistant form of the disease BEFORE he left on his trip.
3. How did he think it was NOT serious if the Fulton County officials sat him down to discuss his illness with him?
3. He was told not to fly.
4. They got married in Greece. Did they plan to do this, or was it a blatant attempt to garner sympathy because they both knew what they were doing was wrong?
5. After his phone call with the CDC, he knew he was not allowed to fly on a commercial flight.
6. Most insurance companies would pick up a partial amount for the flight to return to the US. He keeps whining about not having the funds to pay for a private flight...
7. He knew that the Italian authorities would be there in the morning to isolate him in a hospital there.
8. AT ALL TIMES - He knew he was a flight risk.
9. How many people, within the midst of a highly communicable disease, decide they just HAVE to travel out of the country.
10. He WAS a flight fugitive. Why have no criminal charges been brought about yet?
11. He deliberately avoided detection by entering the US through Canada.
12. If a medical flight risk can enter the country this easily, what does that say for the extent of Homeland Security resisting entry to terrorists?
13. Since when was it a necessity of the Rotary Club Ambassador to spend 5 WEEKS in Vietnam? Which is where he "thinks" he might have contracted TB.

Obviously this boy likes to lie. His parents did not raise him to tell the truth. He likes to blame everybody else. This is HIS fault. Stand up like a real man. Stand up like an ADULT. Take the blame.

"I have to warn you, I’m a bit gun-shy right now. Every time I turn on the news there’s something horrible on about me. All this condemnation. I just got off the IV, but I’m feeling okay. I think people have a misconception about me.

Sweetie...You DID something horrible. You NEED to be condemned. There ARE no misconceptions.

This man placed thousands of people in danger. Knowingly.

I am ashamed that a citizen of the United States acted in this stupidly selfish action. I am ashamed that the Homeland Security and the CDC did not do more to have this individual isolated immediately. I am ashamed that there are 18 year olds dying in Iraq so this 31 year old ass has his freedom to lie and abuse his freedoms. Integrity and honesty are desperately missing in this individual.
