BOAT IS OUT OF WATER

SUNDAY
OCTOBER 5, 2013

Got up extra early this morning and made breakfast sandwich & latte. Hubby gave the pills to dogs. Then we packed up Maggie & Lil Bit in the FMF while hubby drove a truck to Cabela's. The couple met us at 8:00. Nothing was open this early on a Sunday!

We walked the dogs in the bitterly cold wind & then saw some people with in a camper with a couple horses in stalls at Cabela's.

After giving the truck to the people, we drove to Stateline to get cheap gasoline in the FMF. Hubby decided to get more breakfast sandwiches at Carl's Jr. We purchased some for the dogs at home.

CDA to go shopping at Big R, but they do not open until 10:00. We gave up and dropped off a deposit at PSB, then drove to Rathdrum to shop at Super 1. Got groceries and then tried stopping at Egg people on Diagonal, but they were not at home.

At home, we unloaded groceries. Hubby rested for about an hour, then we loaded up and took Excursion with boat trailer on it down to Farragut Marina & parked it. Took Bud with me in the FMF. We walked him around the marina, then drove up to Wild Dog Walk and spread Harriet's ashes. It was very sad. There is another home built at the river's edge. We talked about all the fun Harriet & the dogs had there running around wild. Harriet's little head bopping up over the high grass.

Then we drove on to Sagle & bought lattes. Then on to Sandpoint to get deer food, bird food & dog food at Big R.

After shopping at Big R, we then got sandwiches at Arby's to eat on the boat trip. At Garfield Bay, we paid Ron for a partial month. Still no news on if the Marina will be there next year or if the owner will sell it!

Hubby bought a tennis ball Kannon at Big R

Got the boat loaded up. It was FILTHY. Rain & dirt everywhere. I was just so discouraged and did not clean it. Hubby called Detailer guy up and he said he will be up on Wednesday to clean it.

Eagle in the tree on branch to the left

Took about 1.5 hours to get back. It was a leisurely trip. We saw an eagle in a tree; lots of sailboats, and lots of fishing boats. It was very clear on the water & a little overcast. Also saw snow on the surrounding mountain range.

At the Farragut boat dock, we unloaded. Hubby met a couple guys that he works with and one engineer at Frontier even came over with his wife & friends (who had brought their 5 dogs down to go rock hunting at the shore) to help us get the boat out. Hubby had put the trailer in too close to the dock and the boat kept scraping the dock until he finally moved the trailer out 2 feet. It loaded ok. We drove home at about 25 mph.

Preparing to back the trailer in to the water

When we got home, we parked the Excursion & the boat down at the big shop. Then hubby changed out of his wet pants; we got all the dogs & put their collar on. They were all excited to go with us. We packed Bud & Maggie in the back of the pickup and Lil Bit along with Ben tried to run away when hubby was loading dogs. I got them rounded up & Lil Bit jumped in the truck by himself!

It was getting darker as we drove to Sagle, then to Garfield Bay. Very scary. A deer ran out in front of the truck. I screamed.

It was totally pitch dark by the time we got to the Marina. We unloaded dogs & walked them around. So sad to see most of the boats out of the water...

Then I took Maggie, Ben & Lil Bit with me in the FMF. Hubby drove in front and I followed. Lots of deer & even a coyote. Very scary driving in the dark in the mountains.

At home, we unloaded the dogs & put out deer food. I made No-Bake Protein Balls.

Protein Balls (Peanut Butter, Coconut, Chocolate Chips, Oatmeal)

Hubby made chicken leftovers and then we watched a little TV. Went to bed around 11:00.
