SATURDAY / MARCH 8 / PEANUT BUTTER JELLY ROLL / THOUSAND PALMS CALIF /

SATURDAY
MARCH 8 2025

Up at 6AM. We made the bed. Hubby fed the dogs. Riley still isn't eating her breakfast. Hubby had already packed a bag last night in the car and put the kennel in the car.

I made hot cinnamon/honey latte for Hubby, hot tea for myself.

We put collars on dogs, locked up house. Left in the FMF.

Drove on I15 south to Vegas, then Hwy 95 to Searchlight. Stopped to let dogs potty, pee ourselves, get fuel.

Had to stop for a train in the middle of the desert.

Stopped in Needles to walk dogs in a cemetery. Gave them treats.

Drove Hwy 95 south to I10 and then to Thousand Palms. Got caught in cluster fuck of construction and 2 accidents along a 1 mile route of construction. Cop car tried driving thru the backed up traffic. Joked with people and a black guy with his family. It was cute.

Finally got to Thousand Palms at 1:30PM. I went inside to look at the dog while Hubby was outside with our dogs. He took them for a walk. Heart music & people around an industrialized area.

I put a deposit on Jelly Roll of $75 to cover the cost of her getting spayed, I need to send in paperwork when she is done. I filled out paperwork and got her Microchip.

We went outside and the dogs greeted each other. Riley was scared.

Then we loaded everybody. Peanut Butter Jelly Roll is a happy, sweet dog. Very dense. Not fat. Just heavy.

We were going to eat at Burger King, but found a restaurant called Goody's where we did the drive-thru. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Great huge, thick hamburgers. Wonderful french fries. Loved it.

Then we drove to a local dog park, but did not like the idea of going in as there were several HUGE dogs there.

So we drove around looking for grass and found a different people park and walked them there. Hubby went potty while I looked after the dogs.

TATER & WILSON IN DOG KENNEL

Fuel in California was not bad. Only $3.79/gallon. We drove back to Mesquite.

Stopped in Needles to walk dogs at the cemetery again.

Riley had thrown up all her food from all day in the back. Hubby had to clean it up while I walked dogs.

Then the rear tailgate would not close. Hubby and I both tried it. Hubby had to use his knife to prop the latch into the correct position.

Finally got going again.

In Searchlight (little town where the cops were picking up people going over the 25mph speed limit) we got fuel again. I went potty.

We got on the road again and drove home to Mesquite.

Finally got home about 8:30PM. We unloaded dogs. Peanut Butter Jelly Roll ran into the house like she had been doing it forever. She is part of the family.

I let the dogs out in the back yard. Everybody peed again.

We got some food out for dogs, but nobody was interested in eating.

I cleaned cat litter.

Everybody was very tired.

We sat watching TV for a few minutes.

TATER, PEANUT BUTTER JELLY ROLL, & HUBBY ON SOFA

We went to bed at 9PM.

Peanut Butter Jelly Roll slept under Hubby's hand beside him all night long.

Riley slept on Hubby's pillow above his head.

Tater slept down by our knees between us.
