PERGOLA!

TUESDAY
8-6-2019

Woke up at 5:30AM, Tater was walking around on the bed. He was restless. Robert had already jumped off the bed by now. Hubby took the dogs outside to potty.

I slept until 7AM. Woke up like I had a hangover. It is getting more difficult everyday; body aches & pains, joint aches.

The 3 guys from SW Awnings were already here at 7AM and moving in their ladders, saws, Alumawood, & equipment.

Warmed up leftover egg for breakfast, made turkey bacon, I ate breakfast.

We walked the dogs down to the grassy area in the neighborhood (Don't Call It A Dog Park!)

Vasu from Pure Window Cleaning showed up to do the windows. He said it was OK to work around the Pergola installation guys.

Hubby came back to talk about not putting a post in the middle of the span on the back patio, but they said it would need a metal post to support it. And it would take 2 weeks to order. This was not given as an option when we quoted it.

Then Hubby went out in the garage to put wood varnish on the dog gates when I asked him. I had to go get him as the guys were putting in a straight line of wood instead of a swoop on the back patio. But they said their design indicated just a straight line. We asked them to include the swoop. They re-arranged the wood and cut some others to shorten them on the other side.

Vasu got done washing the windows inside and out. Then he waited for his friend to come pick him up.

The guys got done with the back Pergola at 11PM. They did not have sticks long enough for the side courtyard, so they will have to come back on Thursday to finish.

Back patio all finished. Even put in an abbreviated swoop which gives it some definition.

Vasu left; the SW Awning guys left.

Hubby finished putting coat of stain on dog gates.

We made lunch.

I put away laundry. I put away clean dishes.

I am exhausted. Tried to take a nap, but the cat tore across me then Tater decided to nap on my feet. I got up and took a hot bath while downing a couple aspirins. It made me feel a little bit better.

At 1:45PM, we went over to the Pioneer Center for NATIONAL ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY.

The Whirlpool Repair man came just as we were pulling out of the driveway in the Expedition. Hubby let him inside and then told him to just close the door when he was gone.

We went to Root Beer float and talked to some nice people. Too sweet floats.

Went to Star Nursery and got a couple plants to put out front instead of the spreading yuck plants that we have out there now.

Came back home.

Then John & Dee came over and spent 2 hours looking at Pergola and talking.

They finally left at 6:15PM and it was too late to go swimming.

We had Rising Crust pizza that Hubby put in the oven.

Went to bed at 9:30PM after watching more Derry Girls.
