Awake at 7AM. Dogs got up and Hubby let them out for potty. I slept until 8AM. 

Made lattes & Nanogreens. 

Put warm clean water out for birds. 

Hubby made egg breakfast for dogs & fed them. He put out tuna for cats. 

Watched morning news.

We left at 10AM. 

Drove to Valley of Fire State Park. 

Paid Entry fee at the Visitor Center. Purchased a refrigerator magnet. 

Then we drove thru the campgrounds. First come, First served. Could not find a campground with electric, so we drove to the basic campground in Arch Rock Campground. We found space #8 - people were not taking down their tags so it looked like people were still there... Waiting for people in their trailer to park, and we got out to read the tags. Found Camp Space #8. 

SPACE #8 - FIRST COME FIRST SERVED

After we had unpacked everything, Hubby realized that he had no fuel for the generator. So we left a few things and I was going to stay with the dogs in camp, but decided to go with him to Overton to get fuel!

Hubby had to stop at the Hardware store to buy a cheap plastic gas can. He picked up some sausages for the dogs that tasted raw.

We went to the Maverik in town and got fuel.

Then we stopped at the grocery store -Lin's to get some bully sticks for the dogs, some cheese for me, and extra bundles of wood for the campfire.

 

We drove back to camp. It was getting dark and cold by now. About 4PM. Good thing I did not stay in camp.

 

Hubby immediately made a fire. He started the generator and I made hot lattes. He had forgotten his COFFEE CUP!!! I made his latte in my water bottle.

 

We sat around the fire. He made dinner by putting meat, potatoes, tomatoes in foil and putting it in the fire. But we forgot tongs, potholders, or most anything!

 

We started making a list of things to bring the next time we camp!

 

Tired at about 9PM, we finally went to bed. Walked dogs one last time around camp. Then crawled into bed. Tater hogged most of the bed all night.
