Up-Date

Isabelle did really well at the Vet on Friday, but she was quite dopey when we picked her up. Poor little puppy was starving when she got home as we were unable to feed her since 8PM on Thursday night. So she got quite a meal and spent a very long time outside going potty. This dog holds it until she can get outside.

She panicked when she was sleeping and it really scared me. I couldn't get her to wake up - even resorted to trying to open her eyes. She was listless, drugged-so I got her water and forced it down her which seemed to help a little. The doctor said that she would be OK.

Augustus is actually a boy - the cat is SO hairy that we couldn't figure it out until the vet checked. Aug got his shots & we also found out that he had ear mites so we got medicine for that. Surgery for el gato is scheduled for next week. His tail will be clipped, removing his front claws, and neuterization will be done. Maybe that will calm down "the terror"!

Sat morning, Greg took me out to breakfast at the (formerly Greg Goose) Country Boy Cafe in town. I had been craving an omelette. This place does a fabulous omelette; along with Texas toast (homemade bread), & homefries. Yum. Greg got his usual-biscuits & gravy, egg overeasy, & homefries -except he added peppers & onions! We brought home the left-overs as this place really overfeeds the customers. Got enough left for lunch and dinner.

Saturday afternoon found me posting books on www.PaperBackSwap.com so that I can get rid of my spare paperbacks; and packaging up all the books that have been requested from me. Greg got the rest of the deck cleaned off. The temperature climbed up to the mid 40s and you can really see the snow load has gone down significantly. He then worked down at the shop for a while.

Isabelle slept all day Saturday, still recovering.

Sunday we hung around home; watched a bit of TV. About 11:30PM we had a car that turned into the driveway and just sat down there. Greg drove the truck to find out who was trespassing at this time of night. He got stuck on the ice at the driveway entrance. The suspicious car drove away as soon as they saw Greg drive down there...

I cleaned house on Monday, talked to KRL on the phone, Greg worked in the shop-Joe came over with the end-loader to move snow; Our bottom driveway was totally covered in a 12-foot high snowbank and the propane truck could not get in to fill our tank. Isabelle went nuts barking when she heard the heavy equipment noise.
