CDA Light Parade

FRIDAY
November 29, 2013

What a relaxing day. It started out great. Woke up at 8:00. Hubby was downstairs on the couch with Bud sleeping on his lap. Bud was "humming" his contentment.

I made latte for hubby. Made breakfast sandwich for hubby & omelette for puppies. Puppies had their pills. We watched a couple shows on tv. Then took dogs down to the park for a walk along the shoreline. Saw lots and lots and lots of dead Kokanee washed up. Gross.

Got gasoline in the Excursion.

Hubby wanted to light the new Bronco that he bought for me from Chris Howard. He called Jeff (Toothless) to come over and put on the inverter. It started snowing around Noon. Roads got really slippery.

I broke my fingernail on a Christmas tote in the basement while looking for Xmas lights.

Called Rhonda and she said that she could replace it by 2:45 appointment.

Hubby took me, Bud, Ben & Lil Bit in the Dodge to Rathdrum. We got duct tape & Xmas lights at the Hardware store. Then hubby took me to Salon 41 to get my nails done. Lady was just coming out as I went inside. Hubby drove over to Espresso stand to get us lattes. He gave one to Rhonda and gave one to me. Paid Rhonda $10 even tho she said she did not need $ for fixing my nail.

We left and drove home. Unloaded dogs & put Bud in the Excursion that was already sitting down at the shop with the trailer & Bronco loaded. Jeff (Toothless) was just finishing. We drove to CDA and met kids at the Frontier parking lot.

They jumped in the Excursion with us and we drove downtown to the Grocery Parking lot to meet everybody. Saw Joe & Cindy Holman (Megan was there - she is getting married on the 28th of Dec in Las Vegas). Saw Dave & Bonnie Graham. Saw Vince.

We got in Bronco and followed Joe Holman in parade. The inverter was overheating on Bronco and lights kept going out. We did most of parade with no lights. Bud sat up front with me and stuck his head out. Everybody liked it. Bravo was in the back with Matt & KRN.

After the parade, we drove back to get Bronco loaded at the Grocery store. KRN and I went potty in the grocery store.

We drove to Olive Garden (KRN had the cellphone app pick a place to eat) and had dinner. KRN and I went to walk dogs while guys got a table. When we got inside, none of the hostesses seemed to know where the guys were... Chris was our waiter.

Then after dinner, we took kids to their truck and we went home.

Hubby fed turkey dog grog to the puppies. We watched 30 Rock re-run and went to bed.

NOVEMBER 28 2013

Got up at 8AM today. Hubby was sleeping on the couch with Bud downstairs.

Hubby said Bud was "humming" while he slept.

I got the latte & egg sandwich started. Then gave the dogs their omelettes & pills.

We started the turkey & got it in the oven. Then got all the side dishes made.

I started to get drunk on Mimosas. But hubby bought stupid Vodka & champagne. Yuck.

So I started to drink HUCK.

We went for dog walk in Farragut Park. Walked along the beach. LOTS of dead fish on the beach.

We dropped off the turkey neck in the park so some coyote could have a nice meal.

Got newspaper for BLACK FRIDAY SALES at Athol Mini Market.

Drove home & turkey done! Had turkey dinner. Stuffed.

SATURDAY
November 23

Took dogs for walk with hubby in Farragut.

Got my nails done with Rhonda at her new shop Salon 41. Took Ben, left Bud with hubby at the shop. Isabelle already in the Excursion down at the shop. After my appointment, I picked up burgers at Mcdonalds for dogs. Picked up pizzas at Pizza Hut in Rathdrum.


SUNDAY
November 24

Took dogs for walk with hubby in Farragut.

Started to drive over to Spokane with dogs. Had to return home because hubby forgot his parts to take to CN Diesel.

Stopped at CN Diesel to drop off parts. Talked to Tom.

Stopped at Walgreens to get cream for my DRY thumb.

Got lattes at place in front of hardware store in Post Falls.

Went over to kids in Cheney. Stopped to get drinks from new girl Kelsi at Red White & Brew.
I washed my hair because KRN talked me into doing it; then she curled my hair & help me put on false eyelashes. False eyelashes are dumb & felt funny.

KRN took our Xmas picture. I look horrible. No matter.

Had dinner with kids at Longhorn BBQ. Then we drove home.

Too tired to wash Excursion; too tired to get groceries.

Went to bed early. Nothing on TV.


MONDAY
November 25

Started diet today. I looked at Xmas pictures & barfed. Way too fat.

I was tired and slept in the morning. Then did dishes & laundry.

I ordered Xmas postcards from Moo.

Hubby came home and ran down to shop to help Larry for a while. Then he came & got me; we took Bud & Ben with us to get groceries at Super One in Rathdrum. They were griding the floor back by the meat department. Not very good to do around customers & food.

Store was also not taking credit or debit because of a digital hacker stole credit card info. Hubby had to pay cash.

Isabelle up at 2AM to go potty. Ben up at 3&4AM to bark. No sleep tonight.

TUESDAY
November 26

I was again tired and did not feel up-to-par. Took a nap on the couch.

My clothing came from Victoria's Secret & Old Navy.

Put the turkey in to thaw in the basement sink.

Two deer came to feed tonight at 4:30.

Hubby did not feel well when he came home tonight. Had caught a chill. Could not get warm. I turned heat up really high; Turned on a heated blanket to wrap him in on the couch.

Went to bed early 10:00.

Ben up barking during the night around 2&3AM.



WEDNESDAY
November 27

I got up and started working on cleaning the house.

Did the dishes & laundry. Fed the fish & deer & birds & squirrels.

Cleaned the countertops & dog door.

Vacuumed & Waxed the floors.

Set out all the food on the counter for dinner tomorrow.

Set the table for Thanksgiving Dinner.

Colder Than Before

November 22, 2013

Only 12 degrees when we got up this morning. It is even colder.

Isabelle got up at 2:00 to go outside. I was tired, but let her out. She really needs to go out before we go to bed.

I got up at 6:30 and made breakfast sandwich & latte for hubby.

Kootenai Electric pulled into the road across the street & left their truck running. The dogs went nuts and started barking as it sat running where it was parked - which I'm pretty sure is against OSHA regulations.

The KE sub-contractor came to the door later and told me they were cutting down trees. I asked him not to cut down the big one right under the lines as we want to move it in the spring. He marked it with orange tape.

I did dishes & laundry. I made more Sausage Cream Cheese Pinwheels for KRN so we can take it over to them this weekend.

Ben decided that he was going to go outside to bark at things in the middle of the night. Even Lil Bit jumped off our warm bed and rushed outside to join in the barking. I dragged myself out of bed to close the doggy door with the solid panel.

However. I did not notice in my drugged sleepy slumber that I  had accidentally locked BUD outside. The temperatures got down to about 10 degrees last night.

I feel absolutely horrible.

When I woke this morning at 5:30, I heard scratching. Bud does not like to bark. So I investigated. Lil Bit was on the couch. Nobody else had come to wake me up which is usually the case when one of the other dogs is in trouble or they need something...

I peered out the door into the inky darkness and saw that Bud was shivering outside. Throwing open the door, I immediately wrapped him in a blanket and turned up the fireplace.

Poor dog.

He was wagging his tail and I baby-talked to him. Telling him apologetically that I never meant to leave him out there. I told him that he should have barked to let me know he was out there.

Having too many dogs means that sometimes one gets overlooked. Never again. I will always do dog count!

I made breakfast sandwich & latte for hubby. Made omelette for dogs so they could have their pills.

I am feeling much better. However, the rash on my hand is spreading. I am keeping it medicated with anti-rash cream. Clotrimazole.

Did the laundry & dishes after hubby left for work.

The Dr called & left a voicemail message. Said he wanted to know how I was feeling after my "stomach problem".

TIME TO FIND A NEW DOCTOR.

Today I had renewed energy and felt better than I have in a long time. So I made Stuffed Peppers for hubby before he came home.

I made 2 pans of Rice Krispy treats.

Hubby came home at 5:30 with dog food.

He had his dinner. One of the stuffed peppers. Then he had SEVERAL helpings of Rice Krispy treats. Too many. He got stuffed & felt horrible with all that sugar he had eaten!

He drove the Blue Bronco down to the shop at 7:30, but walked back because everybody had gone home already. So he stayed home all night.

We got online and changed our Insurance Policy for the annual re-enrollment.

November 20 2013

Woke up at 3AM with 101.6 degree temperature. Took antibiotics. Seemed to help fever and I got some rest.

At 7:30, got up and called Dr to get appt at 11:00. Hubby took me to Dr. We took Bud, Ben & Lil Bit with us.

Dr thought it was some virus and referred me to ER for a blood draw. Took dogs home and dropped them off.

We stopped for lattes in Athol.

Then drove to Kootenai ER. It was busy with lots of disgusting sick people. We sat over by ourselves. Even though the Dr had 40 minutes to call, they had no reference for me and would not check me into the ER. We called the Dr's office again. She said she would check. We decided to leave instead of waiting.

I was feeling better. Got $5 pizzas at Lil Caesar's. Drove home.

Gave dogs pizza.

Maggie went into the vet to get toenails clipped with hubby. She bit the assistant.

I took a nap.

Hubby went down to the shop at 5:30 to meet guy that was to winterize the boat. He charged him an additional $200 (after the $200 we gave him as a discount on boat storage)! WTF? No more discounts for anybody. Asshole.

They were down there until 9:30. Finally came back. Bud & Isabelle had gone with them to help out. Bud was outside the whole time while Isabelle stayed in the heated truck (hubby left it running for her).

While hubby was down at the boat, I vacuumed the house and the upstairs loft. Washed Maggie's pilows because they stank.
 
When hubby returned home, we watched tv and went to bed at 11:00. It was only 14 degrees by the time we went to bed. COLD.

WORST WINTER EVER

it started snowing friday night.

in the middle of the night, the electricity went out and stayed out. from 11-4 we were in total darkness and cold.

at 4am, the electricity came on and the fireplace heated the house up. at 8am, we got up and started breakfast. in the middle, the electricity went out again.

i finished making eggs on the propane grille outside on the patio.

hubby started shoveling the decks. i helped. then he went down to get the snow plow. we went into town to get gasoline and fill gas cans. stopped at the latte stand (athol had electricity still. bastards.) then got fluid for the bronco plow at victory auto parts. the dogs came with us.

when we returned home, hubby plowed the driveway. and plowed and plowed.

by 11 the electricity was on again. however, a tree fell in the backyard on to the dog fence and destroyed a piece of fence.

when hubby was done plowing the drive, it was time to shovel decks and sidewalks again. it was still snowing. about 12 inches of snow probably.

then we took all the dogs with us in the X and went to post falls to pick up the chainsaw from nick at cn diesel (he had borrowed chainsaw last year and never returned it).

we got wendy's cheeseburgers for the dogs. in town, there was NO SNOW. it had only rained. crap.

stopped in rathdrum on the way back and walked the dogs in the park.

then went to super one and got groceries. they are in the middle of remodeling and everything was messed up. couldn't find anything!

we drove home and unloaded all the groceries. i was exhausted. had to keep shoveling the side deck as snow kept falling off the roof. we went to bed at 10:15 after the early news.

got up and made breakfast sandwich for hubby & a latte. made omelette for dogs. fortunately, the electricity stayed on this time.

had to shovel the decks again as snow had fallen off the roof in the middle of the night.

got dressed & took the dogs for a walk at farragut park. we walked on the horse side of the park. stupid park ranger had to drive right by us, staring at us. i found myself not having the energy to even walk. i just wanted to collapse into the snow. no energy at all. am i sick? even isabelle was walking faster than i was... hubby gave me maggie & isabelle, he tried to hurry to the X. we finally caught up to him. but i did not even have energy to get into the truck. exhausted.

we drove home. hubby started to cut up the tree that had fallen on the dog fence.

i got the dogs collars off, then started to make another egg sandwich for me. did i need some protein? i went out to help hubby move the fence panel and zip-tie it up to the others. then we moved the old fence panel out.

we watched tv for a while, then i needed to go get bird seed. i decided we should just go to spirit lake instead of into town. i was exhausted again. i changed clothes and we took the dodge along with lil bit, bud, & ben.

ran into leo and his kid at the hardware store. hubby wanted to drive all over spirit lake looking at all the new construction of roads & houses. we drove over to the lake to look at all the new stuff that was there.

came home and made chili. filled all the bird feeders. i should not have eaten chili because i got cramps & bad tummy. hubby made filling for burritos. i took a hot bath. we watched top gear for a while. it got dark. at 35 degrees, it started raining outside around 3pm.

BUSY THURSDAY & SNOWY FRIDAY

Got up and made latte & egg sandwich for breakfast for hubby. He gave ALL the dogs their pills. Remember the pharmacy?

Once he was gone, I took a 2 hour nap on the couch. Too many allergy pills from last night. Then I got up and had LOTS of energy.

I decided to throw open the doors because it got up to 45 degrees today! A veritable heat-wave!

Did the dishes, Did the laundry.

Vacuumed the whole house. Steam cleaned the floors. Washed dog beds. Washed blankets.

Took all the dogs down with me to get mail. Tied Ben & Bit up by the plow Bronco so I could walk out and get mail. The mail lady saw me coming and gave me a dirty look. What is WRONG with her? Anyway, instead of handing me the mail, she jammed it in the mailbox when I was only 2 feet from her. Then she slammed the mail door shut & took off while spinning her Jeep Cherokee tires. Wow. Rude. I even smiled and said Hi to her but got no response in return. Cheer up, lady!

I also made more bacon for hubby's sandwiches.

I also was looking at the Equipment Agreement we have with DirecTV. Hubby talked me into paying $ per month so that we could replace the remote that does not work every once in a while instead of plopping out $65 each time we need a new one. The Equipment Agreement gives you a new replacement every 2 years on stuff, so I ordered the new TIVO HD DVR. Arranged for installation on Monday.

Hubby came home at 5:30 with honey for me from Walmart. I do NOT like the honey that we bought at Winco. I will use it for making treats instead of adding it to my tea.

Bud & Izzy went down to the shop with hubby while he worked down there for a couple hours. Bud came running back early.

Izzy was frozen when they got home at 9:00. She sat by the fire for the rest of the night.

We went to bed at 11:00. Izzy got up with hubby at 2:00am to go potty. This HAS to stop.

I did the juice/ tea cleanse today because my stomach has been too upset by eating food lately.

After hubby left, I fell asleep on the couch for an hour.

Did dishes and laundry. Vacuumed. Went outside to pick up dog poo.

We heard a huge helicopter go directly over the house around 2:00, but could not see it because it was SO CLOUDY and depressing again today.

Hubby came home at 6:30 & brought me home the CHI ARC that I wanted for curling my hair. It works pretty well.

Hubby took Bud & Izzy to the shop with him. Bud gets to play shop dog. Izzy stays in the truck. Hope she does not get too cold.

He also took down treats for the guys.

Hubby got up at 5:00 to potty. He woke me up. Difficult to get back to sleep with only 1 hour before waking up.

Got up and made hubby breakfast sandwich & latte. It was dark & dingy today. Cloudy. Depressing. Gave the dogs ALL their pills with their omelette.

I did dishes & laundry. Went down to get the mail.

Depressing day. Depressingly cloudy.

Happy Veteran's Day.

Got up and made breakfast sandwich & roast beef sandwich for hubby. Also made latte with new White Christmas flavoring; Rum & Brandy.

Dogs got their pills with their omelette this morning.

Hubby left for work. It was very warm out and the sun was also out!

I was extremely tired from the several allergy pills I took last night. I slept until 1:00PM. Got up and did dishes & laundry.

Bud & Ben go to the doctor at 3:00. Bud has an infection on his tummy near his weiner. Dr Mike drained it. Lots of puss. Said it was probably a sliver? Maybe from being shop dog. Picked up a piece of metal in his skin.

Ben has infection of hair follicles around his toes. Might be recurring. Ick. Both dogs got antibiotics and Benjamin got Prednisone. Also picked up Izzy's Tramadol pills. Our counter at home looks like a pharmacy!

Came home and unloaded dogs. Ben ran into the woods. I fed deer. Ben came back.

Hubby came home at 5:30. Then went down to the shop for a few minutes to put UPS deliveries in the shop and bring back a UPS package. Our fireplace remote had come.

Hubby ate roast beef sandwich for dinner. We went to bed at 10:30.

Raining Cats and Dogs

Got dressed & ready to go out tonight.

Hubby got home at 4:30 and he changed clothes. We drove into CDA in the Dodge. Went to the Lake City Playhouse to see the play Lend Me A Tenor. It was very good. Lasted from 7:30 to 9:45. Then we went to Wendy's that was closed by 10:00. Instead drove over to Burger King to get burgers for dogs. 

Went home. Gave burgers to dogs. Went to bed.

Did dishes & laundry after hubby left for work.

Then I made more bacon for his breakfast sandwich. Since I was working in the kitchen, I decided to make Rice Krispy treats, Peanut Brittle, Energy Ball bites.

Hubby came home at 6:00 and worked in the shop until 9:00.

SATURDAY

Got up and made breakfast sandwich & latte for hubby.

We walked the dogs in the park as the kids were late. KRN had to deal with the police because an employee had broken in overnight and made drinks then stole money from the safe.

The kids came over by 9:30 and KRN and I left to go shopping at Craft Sales in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene High Schools. Beebo stayed at our home to play with the dogs.

The Post Falls craft sale was disappointing. Nobody there. Nothing new. We got lattes at Higher Grounds. At CDA High school, it was crowded but nobody was doing anything new. KRN put her drink down to buy sunglasses; she left hers at home. It was sunny today. We picked up dog burgers at Wendy's. So then we drove back and got another latte for her. Shopped at Winco. I bought a roast. I drove her over to Matt's parents' new condo Mill River Condos.

I drove to Rathdrum to get my nails & toenails done with Rhonda. I got home around 3:30 and gave burgers to the dogs. Unloaded my Cedar Bird Feeder that I had bought at the Post Falls Craft Sale.

I started the roast in the slow-cooker. Had to run down to Athol Grocery store to get carrots & vegetable soup packet. 

Hubby came home around 6:00 and had dinner. He said the roast smelled good.

We watched TV until the kids came around 9:00.

SUNDAY

October 10, 2013

The smell of the roast was DELICIOUS! Nice to wake up to a house smelling like that.

It was cloudy all day. We got up late. I made breakfast sandwich & latte for hubby. He stayed in bed until 8:00. We finally walked the dogs in the park about 9:30.

When we got home, we went down to the boat in the building and cleaned it out. Bud came with us to supervise! Got all our supplies out of the boat so nothing would freeze or get eaten by mice.

Came back to the house and unloaded everything into the basement. Put the food away.

Drove to CDA with Lil Bit all by himself. Went to get lattes at Higher Grounds, then shopped at Winco.

Got burgers for dogs at Wendy's. Then shopped at Pawn One for grinder that hubby needed. I walked Lil Bit then joined hubby in the Pawn shop.

Decided to shop at Albertsons to get their cheese crab ball. Their prices are ridiculously expensive! Double the price at any other store.

Ate dinner at Qdoba. Got burritos. Not very good. Not going back there again. 

Drove home and unloaded groceries. Fed the burgers to the dogs. Watched Walking Dead and The Good Wife.

Snow & More Snow

TUESDAY
November 5, 2013

Got up and made latte & egg sandwich for hubby. Gave eggs to dogs.

Hubby went to work at 7:00.

I made more eggs for dogs later.

Did dishes & laundry.

Vacuumed.

Shoveled snow. It snowed probably 1" today, but I had to keep shoveling the decks from the accumulation.

Made dinner. Fettuccine with Swedish Meatballs & sauce.

Hubby got home at 6:00. He shoveled the decks again. Dumped the fish water. Turned off the heaters in the basement. Then he made a custom bird feed shelter so the snow would not land on my bird seed. It was made with two rectangular baking pans with wooden dowels secured by screws to the four sides. It will keep the snow from landing on the bird food.

Went to bed early. Had a headache.

Dreary & Depressing Day

NOVEMBER 4, 2013


Got up early at 5:45 and made breakfast sandwich & latte for hubby. He packed Deviled Eggs and Sliders into his lunch. Also took the Rice Krispy treats to work today for his buddies.

It was awfully dark & depressing. Overcast clouds, grey, and depressing. I got laundry done, tidied up a bit, did dishes.

Made the beds. Washed Maggie's bedding. Vacuumed the upstairs.

Made dinner for hubby. Tomato Soup with Zesty Tomatoes and Custom Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.

Watched HIMYM and then went to bed. I was exhausted.

DST and SNOW

SATURDAY
November 2, 2013

Made breakfast for hubby; sandwich & latte. Made eggs for the dogs. It was raining and we were not able to walk the dogs. We watched automotive shows until hubby ran down to the shop to work at 10:00. He took Buddy with him to be shop dog and also took Isabelle. At 12:00, I went down to get the mail. Brought Bud back with me. Isabelle stayed inside the truck sleeping at the shop.

Hubby had to go get parts at NAPA, so he came up to the house. We left Isabelle here with Maggie and took Bud, Ben, & Lil Bit with us in the Dodge. Stopped in Rathdrum to pay NAPA and then had to go over to Spokane NAPA to pick up parts. Drove the backway on Trent. Hubby forgot where the NAPA was and we had to detour. Dogs really loved the ride. It had stopped raining and was much better weather. We saw a doggy in a truck on Trent that Lil Bit really barked at. The lady in the pickup smiled at us.

Waited for hubby at NAPA, then we drove to Wendy's in front of Costco to get burgers. Drove back to Rathdrum and got groceries at Stein's.

Then we drove home. I dropped hubby off at shop, then went up to house. Unloaded dogs & groceries. I made Rice Krispy treats with chocolate/butterscotches on top, and also made Ham & Cheese Sliders.

Took the Sliders & a couple Rice Krispy treats down to the shop. #3 was really hungry and appreciated them.

Hubby came home from shop around 6:00.

We set back the clocks for Daylight Standard Time. Then went to bed.

SUNDAY
November 3, 2013

Slept in late. It was nice to sleep in so late. Dogs finally bothered us to wake up.

It had snowed a little bit outside. Just a spinkle of dusting on the decks. Nothing stuck to the ground, tho!

Hubby said he wanted Strawberry Pancakes, so I got up and made those along with extra fluffy eggs made only with heavy whipping cream.

After breakfast, we took dogs for a walk in the park. Stupid Park Ranger had to come "check up" on us to make sure we had tags, duh! We are there every weekend. They should recognize our vehicle by now. Then on our walk to the Brig Museum some dumb bow hunter had to drive by us looking for deer. Dogs were very upset by the vehicle driving slowly by us.

When we were finished with the walk, we drove by the Boating dock in the park, then down to Bayview and around home via Careywood.

At home, we watched more automotive shows. Hubby made burritos. I made more Ham & Cheese Sliders, and we both made Deviled Eggs together.

When we were done cooking & baking, we sat watching TV shows for a while. Then hubby went outside to try to get the lawn mower off the John Deere Tractor. He decided to take it to the shop.

Hubby folded up all the hoses and brought them inside for winter.

We hauled the grille off the deck and downstairs to the concrete patio. That way I won't have to shovel around it on the deck all winter.

Just need to get the generator hooked up in case of power outage and we are ready for winter!

Watched more TV and hubby ate his Sliders & Deviled Eggs.

I took a bath.

Went to bed at 11:00. I was exhausted.
