SUNDAY
MAY 24 2026
Got up early on Sunday. In the middle of the desert and I got dressed. Nobody around for miles.
Hubby put the dogs out for potty. They wandered around where they wanted to; went far off to poop.
Hubby started the generator so that I could make hot tea for me and hot latte for him.
We tried to eat the burritos from yesterday, but they are not good on the 2nd day. Need to eat them fresh. I gave some of my burrito to the dogs.
We walked the dogs and then gave them water. Loaded them into the truck.
We drove back to Baker on 487 and then drove west on Highway 6.

In Pioche, NV, we walked the dogs in the grass at the school. It was shady and we walked them around the sidewalks.
We drove into town to look for the breakfast cafe. We found it on the corner as we turned. Parked on the street across from it in the shade. It was pretty cool, so we left water with the dogs in the truck and crossed the street to eat there.
Ate breakfast at the oldest cafe in Nevada in Pioche; Historic Silver Cafe. Hubby had biscuits and gravy with an egg on top 1/2 order. I had the french toast with crispy bacon so Hubby could eat my bacon.
There were 3 latino men sitting behind Hubby and they ordered AFTER us, but they ate quickly and left before us. It was odd.
BREAKFAST AT HISTORIC SILVER CAFE IN PIOCHE
The breakfast was OK, but not great. We did NOT get sick after, tho.
We got into the truck and continued driving. Looking for a place to stay the night.
We drove east towards Echo Canyon State Park. Drove thru it, but there WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE there and could not stay with the dogs. Lots of people walking their dogs and we thought it to be disruptive.
We left there and drove south to 319. Then we drove thru Panaca. Walked the dogs at the school there in the grass. Church at the Mormon temple was just getting out and lots of people were walking thru town.
As we drove thru Panaca, we did not see any of those hideous Political signs that had been PLASTERED ALL OVER THE TOWN BEFORE up to this point. It was very odd. No sign of those awful things anywhere. Did they learn a lesson? No politican will help the isolated, poor Republican towns?
We drove west to the intersection of 93&319 and got fuel at the Shell station there. Hubby got Blue Bunny ice cream which was awful. No taste at all and the ice cream was foamy.
We drove to Caliente and Hubby drove thru town. No political signs there EXCEPT for one that looked VERY old in a house on the hill that was abandoned and foreclosed. It was hilarious. No politician is giving money to the poor Republican town.
Hubby took us up a horrible dirt road by the rock crushing pit that was for the Races that he had done several years ago, but there was no camping there and it kept getting narrower. We turned around and left there.
We continued driving and located a road that was it was for the Delamar Mine, but the road was awful and there was nothing but scrub brush so the dogs would not be able to walk or run around.
We turned around and left there. It was getting hotter now as we drove south. No place to camp.
We decided to return to Mesquite. We were all tired. Stopped at the Ash Springs Green Valley Grocery RV park to walk the dogs. What we saw there was AWFUL. They had decided NOT to water the dog park and there were weeds and burnt grass. Nobody had cleaned the park of poop, so I took bags and picked up over 50 bags of dog poo. Some vehicle had backed in to the fence on one side and destroyed it.
We gave the dogs some water and then loaded them back into the truck.
Drove home to Mesquite and got there about 4PM.
Unloaded the dogs. I cleaned the cat litter, I put the dogs outside so they could potty. I re-filled the water outside for the dogs. I made more hot tea for myself.
I was not feeling well. Everything was hurting again.
I took a shower right away so I could feel clean again.
Hubby brought in the basics from the camper. We can unload it and clean it out tomorrow.
Put dirty clothes in the washer and started it.
Hubby took a shower and washed the dogs. I helpoed dry the dogs after they were washed.
We sat around and watched TV for a while and went to bed by 8PM.
